Ever wonder why they keep bringing it out for "a limited time" when the majority dislike it? McD's spent BIG bucks on designing the equipment and the processing of the meat like substance. So, they periodically check to see if their marketing folks have succeeded in elevating the lowest common denominator to the top in the real world as opposed to their utopia where everyone eats anything with a corporate logo on it.

It's simple, BBQ is a regional food with strong local ties that resists any attempt at 'one size fits all.' But all you gastro cowards needn't give up hope. Food trends cycle roughly every thirty years. So, by my estimation, McD's and all the other hobgoblins of corporate food services have another generation to turn Americans into zombie eaters.

lol
I smoke my own ribs, but I also like the McRib.

How the hell do you do that? Doesn't it hurt?

It's all in the lung capacity.

And yes, yes it does.

mcdonald's has angus burgers now?

If we could only find some way to make like a double McRib, kinda like a big mac but with the McRib meat. That's what I want.

Stacked like this, top to bottom:

Bread
Pickles/onions
McRib
Bread
McRib
Slaw
Bread

I'd be impressed if you could eat that and not need to wash your hands. 😛

Two all rib pattys, special sauce, onions, pickles on a sesame seed bun.

That sounds like a big-mac rib. 😉

BTW, no McRib at my local McD's today either.

So, OP started a bad rumor, me thinks. 🙁

Fug it...I'll just download a copy from someone else. 😎

I noticed McRib was back in Orlando this weekend. I passed on it to try the different foods that was on the McDonald Bistro menu. It was crazy seeing stuff like pastas, pizza, omelets, and enchiladas on the menu.

The McRib is disgusting. Its basically a small slab of generic meat smothered in a barbecue like sauce between two pieces of cheap bread.

It's NOT generic meat. It's piggy, wonderful, fabulous piggy. Only more legs.

Wow; I never knew there was so much love for the McRib.

It's awesome and since it's not on the regular menu, when they bring it back, it generates a lot of buzz. All you fastfood/McDonald's hater can GTFO.

Someone get corporate on the phone!
(hold the slaw, pickles, and onions for me, though)

McDonald's knows of the cult following this son-of-a-bitch sandwhich has and as a result, the McRib will never be a candidate to be on the menu full-time - if it was fulltime, it'll lose that special allure and won't create that semi-annual social buzz.

It's all good that they at least bring it back a couple of times a year, but at least bring it to NYC. The least time I had it was a few years back around Chicago. That's way too far to go for a McRib...
