I have one breakfast like that a week on Sundays when I'm bulking. Through my late 20s I could eat like that all the time and never gain a pound. Now I can almost eat like that, and with my weight training and cardo, I still lose weight.
Anyhow, my point was to single McDonalds out for what is a pretty standard large breakfast plate at any diner and many homes is absurd.

I could eat a big mac everyday because they're tasty but I won't because eating like that everyday would lead to tighter fitting pants and that's something I'd like to avoid. Sue me.

I used to be able to eat stuff like that all the time. I'm older now though so even though I do exercise regularly I rarely eat at mcd's because when I do eat there I generally feel like crap afterwards and it affects me on my rides (cycling). No, you're right. I'm just a little touchy because McDonald's is always the target of mindless slams, even though their food is has the same exact nutritional stats as any similar restaurant or home cooked item.
BTW, I have a high protein, higher fat diet than you do. Probably because our goals are different. I find excellent results in muscle gain with a diet high in beef while I'm bulking.

My point is, how did you find out it was "bad?" McDonald's actually listed the info. Something your mom and local diners never would have done.
BTW, the excuse that people eat like this and get fat because it's "cheap and convenient" no longer flies. Even McDonald's now offers lower fat, lower calorie options.
