McRib is Back!

I have had a couple McRibs recently, and they were actually pretty tasty. I think the first one of the season I had wasn't as good though, I seem to remember it didn't have as much sauce.

The McDonalds specialty I'd love to see again is the McCheddar. Rye bun, cheddar cheese, and grilled onion. They used to release them every so often, but I bet it's been 20-30 years I've seen it.
If they were to bring anything from the old school back I'd vote for the deep fried cherry and apple pies. God those were amazing, light, airy, and crispy, and then got replaced by these sludgy and heavy baked apple pies in the early 90s when everyone was on an anti-fat craze. They refined their recipe pretty drastically and the baked apple pie is good again but still not the amazing fried one I used to get all the time in the 80s.

Ditto. I was slinging them in the late 80's. I kind of liked the taste of the rye bun. The cheddar was awesome on fries.

I really didn't like hamburgers until I tried the McDLT as a teen. It's unique packaging would "Keep the hot side hot, and the cool side cool".

I had a coworker who would deep fry the small shrimp made for their shrimp salad. They were pretty darn good.
I think Wendy's has the be the king of 1980s fast food burgers. They were good enough that even without a toy 7 year-old me would ask mom to go there a lot of the time when the Happy Meal promotion sucked (which was most of the time when it wasn't Hot Wheels). I think they'd give you a little bag of M&Ms instead of the toy in the Wendy's kids meals back then.

I gotta try one soon I guess, as I generally love McDonald's sauces. Their honey mustard and BBQ sauces are what save the Chicken McNuggets for me, which are otherwise bland as hell compared to Wendy's, Whataburger, Popeyes, or Chick Fil A.

McRib is kind of disappointing. It starts delicious, and gets less delicious as the sandwich disappears. It's also a fucking mess, and messy food pisses me off.
Wait are you telling me you don't order extra honey butter on your honey butter chicken biscuit?

I don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound like something I'd like. The only messy foods I'll sometimes get are steamed shrimp, and gyros. Both are worth the hassle.

My first reaction was to think "who the fuck would think they're made with actual rib meat?" and then I remembered how we are a nation of increasingly stupid people making ever stupider decisions.
