Link please...or maybe a good rationale for that?

AMD's own words about producing 10's of thousands of K10 per month.

What's AMD's total chip capacity? A million chips a month? Two?

BTW, why did AMD dilute their shareholder value by 9% again?

As usual you're spinning the numbers again...the dilutions was 8.2%.
I would have thought that it was obvious why they did it...to secure cash during a credit crunch period. It's because of that deal that they have plenty of cash of course...

There's no such thing as "chip capacity" because different chips are different sizes.
It's called wafer capacity or WSPM.
Could you show me where AMD says they are only producing 10's of thousands of K10s?

Okay, no such thing as chip capacity. I guess AMD makes donuts then.

You can also get out your calculator to figure out how to calculate dilution.

"So now, the Mubadala Group has bought 49 million freshly minted shares directly from AMD, at last night's closing price of $12.70 per share. After transaction fees and such, that translates into an 8.1% ownership stake in the processor pasha and 8.9% overnight dilution."

I'm sure you you can also Google the statements from Dirk Meyer and Phil Hester about quad core production.

Anyway, enough arguing. You can have the final word.

well the dilution caused some amount of the share price drop. the point is, the fear that they had to dilute is what caused the rest of it.

i think they will turn it around though, 2008 they might turn the corner. amd has always been better at executing when their backs were against the wall.
