who is Tony Gwynn ?

and Goose Gossage didnt get in?! RIGGED!!!!!

edit:
Steve Garvey (115), who was in his final year of eligibility.

Steve didnt get in?

hm.. you can appear on the ballot for 15 yrs. does that mean 15 times on the ballot, or 15 years from when you're 1st eliglbe?

😕

That's about as bad as someone asking who is Larry Byrd or Joe Montana.

You have to realize that the average peep on the BBS was not even born when he played 🙂

Ausm

He retired in 2001.

Your point is?

They should strip anybody suspected of juicing of all of their records and deny them entry into the HoF.

They did effectively the same thing to a guy who only bet on games that he couldn't influence.

Talk about double standard.

Agreed. Pete needs to be in the Hall. Proven juicers should not be. Same goes for football. Merriman shouldn't be able to make the Pro-Bowl, receive awards, or go into the HoF.

Seriously. Gambling couldn't make Pete Rose a better player. He earned his achievements on his own. I think they should at least leave it up to the voters. If they want to consider his gambling and not vote for him, that's up to them.

Many non-mlb followers haven't heard of Tony Gwynn and I don't blame them. He was very low profile, played for a generally poor team with the Padres, never won a championship (altho lost a couple), and just went out there everyday and whacked his singles and doubles like they were going out of style. Not a lot of glamour in his game.

I completely agree. It would be a shame if McGwire gets in and Rose can't...
