That list is a little dated but I just read an article about how McDs is really struggling at the moment. One of the more interesting observations was how the dollar menu used to boost profits but now is hurting them.

Originally the dollar menu would help drive customers to "upsell themselves" - if there was an item for $2.50 that was a better version of the item on the dollar menu, many customers would move up to the $2.50 item.

Now, there are very few items in that "just a little more" price range. There are dollar menu items, and $4-5 items, and customers are staying with the dollar menu where there is almost no profit. The price gap is too large.

That's what makes the McRib so brilliant. It's awful, and if they offered it all the time it would probably lose money. By making it a limited time product they get sales from people who need to get it before it's gone. I don't get the mentality, but it exists. It's pretty damned smart

Apparently you just have to keep your eye on pork prices to figure out when the McRib will appear

Many things are test products related to certain markets.

I had never heard of the McLobster or McPizza

The Arch Deluxe was my favorite McD's product of all time. Was living in Canada as the time near a test store that had it...thought it was awesome. Honestly shocked it got such poor reviews and was removed from the menu.

Agreed. This was out while I was in high school and I loved it. I'm sure I would have a different opinion now, but I was. Rey bummed when they discontinued it.

Pretty sure they still have the McLobster in Nova Scotia.

I remember my mom always buying the McDLT when she bought McDonalds when we were growing up. I'm sure I had one before but don't really remember it.

Arch Deluxe came out after I left high school. I liked it.

McLean I remember seeing on the menu but never ever seen anybody order it. I'd call that one a failure. The other two seemed to have an ok following.

The rest I've never seen or heard of.
