MCE Machine wakes and doesn't go back to sleep.

Well my MCE machines wake when something like a virus scan is necessary and they end up staying on all day or night.

I don't know why this didn't dawn on me before, but I can just tell them to go on hibernate after 30 minutes of inactivity, right?

And I need to choose hibernate, not standby, correct? Hibernate is what will keep the current state if I understand correctly.

Also, please someone let me know if they find a way to wake up a machine over wireless, thanks!

So I tested it, it went to sleep, but it can't be woke up with the remote. I am testing to see if it will wake up to record a show when in hibernate.

Should I be using standby instead or something?

are there options pertaining to standby in your BIOS?

You don't want hibernate. You want sleep (standby) mode. If it's hibernating it won't wake from the remote and it won't record any scheduled programs.

I am not sure if MCE will allow you to schedule standby mode. There's a lot going on in the background. I Never tried it on my MCE systems. I usually put them to sleep myself (using the MCE power button on the MCE remote) and it's usually still asleep the next time I fire it up.
