Yeah, but $10k for what??? It's not like she was damaged or anything. Hell, if she's so grossed out that she never eats at a McDonald's ever again, she comes out with the win!

Uhm..

I agree. She doesn't deserve a huge amount. Its not really McDonald's fault for what happened. Its a single employee's fault. (or maybe 2-3 employees).

You people make it seem as if it is not possible to get any diseases by what happened.

If anything she has to get tested for up to 6 months.

Have you (or anyone else) thought that perhaps maybe it was truly an accident? Fast food moves at a very quick pace, it's possible that the employee got cut without realizing it (happens to me working on computer cases all the time). It may not have been intentional. And...how much blood was it? Just a little smear? Do we really know all the facts here??

It would have really been bad if the person that was bleeding on the fries had some kind of illness such as hepatitis or HIV.

It's America, isn't she bound by some law to sue to McD's for all that is possible, which will be some ungodly sum of money?

However much she gets...that's nasty.

You are the voice of reason. You will be ignored.

"Davis said she continues to have her blood tested, though she has not suffered any illness. She said she stopped eating out for six or seven months.

"I get sick when I think about it," she said."

Pay her bills for testing, yeah. Pay her money because this happened to her, not so much.

So what if she can't eat out? it's doing her a favor.

Yeah, I'm sure there's some emotional distress involved, but that's life.

Of course... =/

Her biggest risk is hepatitis. It is VERY hard, if not near impossible to get HIV from ingesting the virus.

A million? No. That's absurd.

Davis said she went to her doctor to be tested for infectious diseases and was under the impression that McDonald's would pay for her medical bills. When she didn't hear back from the company for months, she filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 in Gaston County Superior Court.

Wow, she actaully tried to work it out before going to court. Good for her. I think the $10K is more than fair on her part.
Since McD's is being a dick about paying her medical costs, though, I'd have hit them for more.
