McDonalds value menu is no longer a value!

I have been eating those value burgers on and off for a while. Either my hand is getting bigger or those chicken sandwiches and hamburgers are getting smaller!

Same thing goes for Wendy's value burgers. A dollar buys you a tiny bun / burger that is smaller than the size of your palm. 🙁

I hear you.

I was ok when they raised the Mcdouble to 1.19.
but now it's 1.50 🙁

no longer going to mcdonalds.
will drive an extra couple of miles to Costco and get a 1.99 slice of everythingpizza

I think the Wendys burgers are a decent value. I like the Jr Cheeseburger Deluxe because it comes with lettuce onion and tomato on it for $1.19. I don't feel like they've gotten any smaller.

You know what? I ate 3 for a meal then and I still eat 3 for a meal now. Other than the extra $1, it's no big deal.

They are all doing this. Blame fuel prices. But even though fuel prices going down (and considering they stay down for a while), I would be shocked if Restaurant/FF prices follow suit, but time will tell.

No its not only fuel prices, food prices as well have jumped significantly as we'll which is why they raised the prices of things like 99¢ Double Cheeseburgers.

It all comes down to fuel. How do you think the food get to the store? And the base food gets from the farms to the facilities/warehouses?

Food all over is rising faster than inflation. I can't believe my local grocery store wants $5 for a package of hot dogs or cheap sausages.

Hmm... ground up discarded meat, fat, tendons, skin, and sinew for $5/lb or some chicken breast for $4/lb, top sirloin for $7/lb, ham for $4/lb, etc.?

Americans need to stop eating over priced garbage, get off their asses, and cook.

So what are you saying? That people should have their own farms? Or that people should go to the grocery store that "wants $5 for a package of hot dogs or cheap sausages."

You think that is insane, the most ludicrous thing i ever saw was some years ago when a Burger King i frequented had the nerve to charge for extra condiment. They put so few packs as it is then they pull that.I noticed my rodeo burgers about that time which i love also started to lack bbq sauce.😱Not sure if this was a one location problem or a entire chain.

Increasing fuel costs was their reasoning but i went to quite a few fast food places and well no one was charging a cent for a few extra ketchup packets when we had the worst hike in gas prices......

Sunday, I had been working outside all day, and needed to drive to town to buy a replacement hammer. While there, since I hadn't eaten all day, I decided to get a cheeseburger at BK. I looked at it for a couple moments, thinking, "wow, these things are a lot smaller than I remembered them." I very rarely get food from BK, except perhaps a coffee if I'm on the road. So, I was left wondering, did BK corporate make the change very very gradually, hoping no one noticed? Or, was it just a sudden change where they reduced the size by about 30%?

At least the dollar spicy chicken sandwich at Carl's Jr. is quite big although it tastes lousy. A little off topic.

The increase on the McDouble and 4 peice nuggets is quite annoying. I hate going there and when I do, I hate paying $.50 more for a crapdouble.

I was expecting the prices to go up. It seemed like a competitive issue that made them all copy one who made the 'value menu', to keep market share, but was bad enough in cutting into profits, I suspect, that I expected them all to collectively inch the prices back up. First I heard of them getting smaller though, that should be verifiable.

It wasn't just the burgers.

KFC had a Monday special of two pieces, corn, potatoes for $2.99, and raised the price to $3.99.

Cook their own food more often rather than relying on cheap, ready made crap with inferior ingredients, whether that be McDonald's or $5/lb hot dogs at the grocery store.

There is always a need for convenience food and eating the aforementioned isn't an absolute no-no but the more people rely on it and demand grows, the more the ready made stuff will rise in price or shrink in size, which is what the OP was bitching about.
