I have noticed the McDonalds around here charge a "drive thru tax" and a "Dine in tax".....it says so clearly on their reciepts. That's utter bullshit if you ask me.

They're not losing any profits....they just make it up in different ways.

LOL!!! Nice assumption there.

Where do you live? Many local areas have differing taxes for sit down restaurants and take out/delivery food.

In fact, the resturant (eat in)/hotel taxes in many areas are far higher than the standard sales tax.

McDonald's could not call it a "tax" if it was simply a fee it profits from.

McDonalds is the only fast food joint in the area doing this. That, or they're the only one's showing it on the reciept. If it were a city/local/state tax then I imagine other resteraunts in the area would reflect it on their reciepts.

What city are you in? We can clear this up quickly.

I guess TBell has succeeded in making the necessary "changes" to their value menu.

taco bell used to be $0.59, $0.79, and $0.99, iirc.

I'll clear it up. One of my clients owns 4 McDonalds and another is the county tax collector/investigator. Between the two of them I'm sure I can figure it out.

Why can't you just say what city you live in? It's not like you're worth stalking ya know.

Now the big question. Was there a sales tax? Or only the "dine in"/"take out" tax?

McDonald's uses the same software for all it's stores. Some areas do have different taxes for sit down meals, and take out meals. So even if your area does not have different taxes, their software will display the SALES TAX as "dine in" or "take out."

When I was in middle school, the Mcdonnalds where I lived had 29 cent hamburgers on sunday and 39 cent cheeseburgers on wednesday. Me and my friends would go tear that shit up. Those were good. This was about ten years ago.

Yeaaa thats what it was. Check was good back then.

Our local McDonald's had a policy of ten-hamburger limit per person, so some aspiring students managed to round up the requisite ten people to reach their Great American 100-Hamburger Convoy goal.

If they advertised 99 cent meatless hamburgers with textured vegetable protein molded into a patty, they'd have to beat the crowds back with a stick.
