I've read through the a couple pages here, and just want to make sure I am doing it all correct...

So, I grab an envelope, and place a stamp with the correct postage on the top right corner.

Write (since it says you can't print it out) the return address as my own address (it will be the address of where the game piece is sent to)
Then write the to address to be:
MONOPOLY® 2006 Game at McDonald's
Game Piece Request
P.O. Box 49434
Strongsville, OH 44149

Put it in the mail, and wait approx 2 weeks for the game piece, correct?

Nothing has to be put inside the envelope, just simply the to/from address, correct?

Here's what I did last year...

Write out 1 envelope to send to McDonalds (use BLUE Pen)
Write out 1 envelope with your name/address on it (use BLUE Pen)
Scan in each of the envelopes
Print out as many envelopes as you want using a COLOR printer
Stuff, Stamp, and Mail them off
....
PROFIT!

Dont you think that they will cancel 500 envelopes if they all look EXACTLY the same? I am sure they were pissed when people used a printer for it, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just don't bother sending anything for people who use a printer.

"Unless you live in Vermont you also need a SASE. "
- No I don't live in Vermont, I thought a SASE is when you self address the entire envelope, exactly how I stated in my above post... Right?

No, that's just how you normally write an envelope. SASE stands for Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. It's an envelope you enclose that is addressed to you and has a stamp. It's what they send the game pieces back to you in. You're paying the return postage, not them.

Ohh... so I have to provide a SASE inside the SASE....

Basically send them the self address & stamped envelope with my name/address and their to address on it, with a stamp, and then insert a SASE with my address as the To address as well as the Return address, correct?

What?!?!?!

You fill out one envelope with your as the return address and McDonalds as the main address. Inside that envelope you put one with yourself as the main address. BOth envelopes have to be stamped.

Well, no on the terminology, but yes on the process. A SASE is a SELF addressed envelope. An envelope you create that's addressed TO you. Having your return address on it does not make it "self addressed" the outside envelope is addressed to McDonald's.

You've got the idea at least. You don't need your address as the return address on the inside (self) addressed envelope. Just on the outside McDonald's addressed one.

How so? Did you read the front page I made?

"You WILL get either a $1 or $5 BB Buck and you might win something else with the other piece (food, other prize, or nothing) "

The official rules confirm this...
Sec 4.C.
Guaranteed Win. Each Chance Piece offers participants the chance to collect Best Buy Bucks in $5 and predominantly $1 denominations, which can be used toward the purchase of Best Buy merchandise online at BestBuy.com® and at participating Best Buy retail locations. Best Buy Bucks are subject to verification and the participant's compliance with these Official Rules. Restrictions apply. See Rule 6(e) for Best Buy Bucks Terms and Conditions.

So if you get ANY chance piece, you are GUARANTEED to get at least a $1 BBB.
However, if you wait too long to send in your requests, they may run out of "supplies".

Box 49434, Strongsville, OH 44149. Vermont residents with a return address located in Vermont may omit return postage. DO NOT SEND POTENTIAL WINNING GAME STAMPS, COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS TO THIS ADDRESS. Each request must be mailed in a separate outer envelope. Mail-in requests must be postmarked no later than October 30, 2006, and received no later than November 6, 2006. If the Game runs long in restaurants, these dates are subject to a corresponding extension.

Printing address labels and affixing them by hand...

or do they want you to grow tree, chop down the wood, and make the envelopes by hand as well...

wait..what? if i live in vermont i dont need to pay for return stamps? thats fcuking awesome! it means i finally have a reason to do this. it will cost me only half. thats fcuking awesome awesome awesome.

Heck, I was thinking that McD's dumpster would be far easier and faster than writing all those addresses... (not that I'm going to do either.) Local McD's is 1 1/2 hours from the nearest best buy... I'd bet that most people just throw out those coupons.

do you guys think it is too late to enter?

at FW they seem to think that this is like the threshold where MCD will start running out of peices.

Please re-read Section 4C. It says

"Each Chance piece offers participants the chance to collect Best Buy Bucks in $5 and predominantly $1 denominations."

A chance to collect something is not a guarantee that you will collect it. When you play the lottery, you have the CHANCE to collect millions of dollars, but you're not necessarily going to.

Likewise, I bought 2 hashbrowns this weekend. Each had 2 game pieces (4 total) and NONE of them were Best Buy Bucks.

This is a BIG YMMV.

i hate to say this but you are being dumb.

read every other forum. FW has like 20 pages of testimonials. SD has like 200 pages of them.

EVERYONE is recieving 1 or 5 BBB with every submission. you aren't reading the rules correctly. i have read through every page in both forums and have yet to hear of someone not recieving a BBB with each submission.

the reason they say "chance" is because when they run out then you will only get a nice "thanks for playing" back instead of a BBB.

No, it's not. You simply don't understand the different game pieces (not to be confused with Game Pieces). A Chance piece is different from a Game Piece, it is the same size as two game pieces and cannot be confused with game pieces. You don't get Chance pieces on hashbrowns, which is why you didn't get any Best Buy Bucks.
A Game Piece is two of the smaller pieces stuck together. These are either food prizes or Monopoloy properties. You can find these on hashbrowns, large fries, medium/large sodas and I think a few other things. A Chance piece is larger and is ALWAYS a Best Buy Buck, those are only found on Chicken Selects and Chicken Sandwiches.
When you send in an SASE you get 1 Game Piece and 1 Chance Piece. That means two pieces that are either Monopoly properties or food prizes AND 1 piece that is either a $1 or $5 Best Buy Buck.

I sent in my last 20 requests today (of 100), but I only live 1 town over from where we're maililng them to (Strongsville OH, a suburb of Cleveland). I think I was even later sending in requests last year and got every one back. But I wouldn't wait much longer if you're sending in a lot... Next year I need to put this on my calendar so I can get the envelopes done early.
