I know what the company's pay scales for mechanics, machinist, and welders, there's no difference in pay for non-union or union employees* throughout the US and Canada.

*union employees feel they should be compensated for their union dues so they constantly complain.

I'm not going to post an official company document online nor will I ever divulge information concerning the company for whom I work. 1 - it violates company policy, 2 - it would be in violation of SEC rules as it would be considered insider information.



First you say unions take 20% of a union workers pay. Then back track to say they make the same but have to pay dues. But you can't back up any of those statements and keep back tracking.

Color me shocked... again. :whiste:
 
I can see it now, McD workers unionize and get their pay increased to $10/hr. Then the union takes their dues of $2/hr so the workers are still effectively making the $8/hr they're currently making.

As I recall, union dues in the U.S. have a range from about 1.2% of earnings to about 5%.

In the union that I belong to, my monthly dues work out to a couple of pennies under 1 hour's worth of pay.

Why post bullshit like that? It just makes you look ignorant.

Isn't this the same numbnuts at the NLRB that wants to define students on scholarship as "employees"? I'm sure just about every retailer - every franchise business will want to appeal. Looks like just another NLRB attempt to help unions.

When you make the claim that union dues are $2 per hour, I think everyone has the right to assume you're making up these claims. E.g., "I know that the price of oranges and grapefruits are exactly the same at Aldis. But, then, they charge you $10 for the bag for your produce. " The magnitude of your error in claim 2 sheds a lot of doubt about claim 1.

Aren't union dues income tax deductible?
You should tell your bosses that them union guys already get compensated for their dues

OHhhhhhhhh, that was supposed to be a joke! Back pedal, back pedal, back pedal. So, what your non-joke would be is that "I can see it now, McD workers unionize and get their pay increased to $10/hr. Then the union takes their dues of 20 cents/hour so the workers are now effectively making $9.80." It was a pretty stupid joke, and only indicates that you really were clueless as to how much union dues are, since you're off by at least one order of magnitude.


You should post that joke in all the threads about money. It's hilarious.
