McDonalds has cut its links with NBA star Kobe Bryant

Analog

Lifer
The Los Angeles Lakers guard is facing trial in Colorado after a hotel concierge claimed he assaulted her.

McDonald's confirmed that its three-year deal with Bryant, which expired on 31 December, was not being renewed.

"It would be inappropriate to comment or speculate at this time about any future sponsorship relationship," said spokesman Bill Whitman.

The decision follows a similar one by Ferrero of Italy, the maker of Nutella chocolate spread, to end its links with Bryant.

Now they just need to cut their links with whatever ad agency has come up with their new theme. "Food, Folks, and Fun" and "We Love to See You Smile" were much better.

Well, regardless of the outcome of the trial, he's a publically admitted adulterer. Somehow, I dont' think that's what McD's had in mind when they say "I'm lovin' it." 😛

I just wished they would stop those god awful urban themed commercials. Somehow they manage to find the least talented people and pay them to rap about sandwiches

While showing videos of people playing basketball on rollerblades trying to look all thuggish....now, two things are wrong with this. I live in a city, and I've never seen street ballers play bball on rollerblades. That's #1. The second, what streetballer would play ball in a helmet and pads? Honestly.

Gotta love how someone can completely ruin a celebrities life by just making an accusation.
It's true for anyone... rat on your neighbor about something like sleeping with your wife and the whole block knows about it... it's just not on a grand scale like all the media helps to make it obviously. It's his fault for putting himself in that position in the first place. He knows what kind of weight he carries.

Yes, it can be the same thing for anyone, but celebs are much bigger targets. Everyone wants a piece of what they got.

This title is misleading. His contract period was over. They did not renew him. Big Frickin' Deal. It's not like they canned him.
Who
Frickin
Cares?

That's what I'd say.

The poor kid won't be able to afford another mansion for his grand parents this year? 🙁 .

What's so good about it. Innocent until proven guilty I thought.
he's guilty of adultery. is that the kind of person you think should be a spokesperson for mcd's?

Yes I'm sure his wife would have loved Kobe had he worked in McD's flipping burgers. And now bought her off with a 4 mil ring.

She's a real expensive and mostly exclusive use high class escort.

His wife could divorce him right now and take half. She, along with her parents and her future kids, will never have to work a day in their lives.

Gotta love CA divorce laws. :disgust:
