Also, as has already been stated, WTF is a vegan, or anyone who is picky about what they eat doing in a McDonalds to begin with? Personally i don't think McDonals food is all that bad for you in reasonable quantites, but it certainly isnt what health freaks would want to eat. ...

Well, anyways, if someone was hurt by this they do deserve some compensation (but not the millions of $$$ peopel are normally asking for). However, if you are jsut suing becasue you eat .1g of animals products without knowning it then you are entitled to nothing IMO.

Also, no matter where you eat there will always be trace amounts of stuff. Personally I am completely OK with knowing that in the food I eat there will be trace amounts of animals feces, and ground up insects, and chemicals. Even if you buy fresh vegetables straigt from the farm there are likley gonna be insect larva and stuff inside them that you will unknowingly ingest. And those people who have to drink bottled water better watch out, becasue the plastic bottles slowly release chemicals into the water...

sorry but thats a pretty ignorant opinion to have about a corporation as large as mcdonalds, they arent ignorant in the way you described

Why not make your fries out of potatoes?

The last time I had their fries I noticed how nasty they are now.

Why are you misrepresenting what is being said in that article???
Nowhere does that article state what your topic title is...nor does it affirm that MCD`s fries are made from wheat and milk...
the word contain is not the same as the words..made from...

Get your facts straight plz...thx

Dont Read Much???

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- McDonald's Corp. faces at least three lawsuits claiming the fast-food giant misled the public after it acknowledged earlier this week its french fries contain milk and wheat ingredients.

do you comprehend much????

contain is not the same word as made from......sorry but your level of comprehension includes not knowing the exacty meaning of the words you are reading.....

contain...is not the same as the words made entirely from......

Get a dictionary and then discuss this subject after you have taken the time to understand the words that are being used.

You will have done us all a public service.:)

Some people are alergic to foods most people can tolerate. For example, some are alergic to peanuts or shellfish. In severe cases, just a trace of the alergin can be fatal.

In case you hadn't noticed, McD's has had ad campaigns spotlighting their "healty choices" for quite awhile:
McDonald's plans to continue healthy focus
?We have great momentum.
Our charge is to keep it,? CEO says

Updated: 1:52 p.m. ET May 11, 2005

CHICAGO - The first-year CEO of McDonald's Corp. told shareholders Wednesday that the company will extend its strong two-year recovery through more healthy menu choices and a continued focus on customer service.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the world's largest fast-food chain, Jim Skinner said McDonald's also will launch a new promotional campaign touting healthy lifestyles.

"We have great momentum. Our charge is to keep it," said Skinner, the third CEO to preside over the McDonald's annual meeting in as many years.

Skinner took over in November after Charlie Bell was forced to resign because of cancer, just seven months after replacing James Cantalupo, who died in April last year from a heart attack. Bell died in January.

Despite the turnover in the executive suite, McDonald's has strung together its best stretch of same-store sales growth in nearly 25 years, announcing on Monday its 24th consecutive month of improved global sales.

Executives on Wednesday credited the performance to new menu options, later hours and better customer service, such as cashless payment options.

McDonald's rolled out a new fruit and walnut salad in U.S. restaurants last week and has introduced more salads in Europe as well as items such as chicken flatbread and fruit smoothies, President and Chief Operating Officer Mike Roberts said.

Next week it plans to introduce Paul Newman's brand lowfat Italian dressing and, later this year, premium chicken sandwiches and a stronger new coffee blend.

A new "healthy lifestyles" promotional campaign will include fruit and milk in Happy Meals, activity programs in schools and a new partnership with the International Olympic Committee, Skinner said.

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based company also plans to spend $1.7 billion this year to open about 700 new restaurants worldwide ? including 100 in China ? and to renovate 1,300 restaurants, officials said Wednesday.
When company the size of McD's makes that the focus of an ad campaign, and they unequivocally state that their fries are free of dairy and wheat products, the public has a right to expect that, and nothing else.

CHICAGO - McDonald's Corp. faces at least three lawsuits claiming the fast-food giant misled the public after it acknowledged earlier this week its french fries contain milk and wheat ingredients.

Debra Moffatt of Lombard, Ill., seeks unspecified damages in a suit filed Friday in Chicago. Her attorney, Thomas Pakenas, said his client has celiac disease, which causes gastrointestinal symptoms set off by eating gluten, a protein found in wheat.

Jack Daly, McDonald's senior vice president, said in a statement the company had not reviewed the case yet and is testing its fries for gluten through a food allergy research program at the University of Nebraska.

Mark and Theresa Chimiak of Jupiter, Fla., sued Friday in Florida, claiming their 5-year-old daughter has an intolerance to gluten and became seriously ill after eating the fries. Nadia Sugich of Los Angeles sued Wednesday, saying she eats no animal products and would not have eaten the fries had she known they contained dairy ingredients.

McDonald's, based in Oak Brook, Ill., said Monday that wheat and dairy products are used to flavor its fries.

Before its acknowledgment Monday, the company had quietly added "Contains wheat and milk ingredients" to the french fries listing on its Web site.

I hope the familly gets a record settlement. For a company that has impedded the health of so many people for so many years before bowing to pressure and offering healthy foods, they should be punished, especially now that we have caught them lying.

I will agree that they should be held accountable for what is IN the food, but I mean come on, you don't honestly believe that they should be held responsible for peoples bad eating habits do you? Anyone with a 2nd grade education knows that McDonalds food is not good for you. So if you CHOOSE to follow a diet plan that includes McDonalds food as a regular staple, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Exactly..

It's such a joke.

I wouldn't give any of those families anything.

Reminds me of a recent event:

I wanted to make some Meatless Baked Beans, so I Goodled "Meatless Baked Beans". Got many results, some were bogus, a few were actual Recipes, and fewer still were "Meatless" by name. So I'm checking through the last few left that were titled "Meatless Baked Beans" and the first is pretty close tomy regular Baked Bean recipe, except it used Ketchup. The next recipe was even closer and as I read down the measurements/Ingredients I kept going "Yup", until I got to the last ingredient, "Salt Pork"! I look back to the title, just to be sure, nope, in big bold letters it proclaims, "Meatless Baked Beans". :D :shrug;
