I've had authentic southern sweet tea, absolutely love it.
I'm a Northerner who has always had a little Southerner in my head. I love the South, more chill, more family and community focused. At least, compared to what I've experienced in the Northern areas.
Born and raised in the North, but camped in South Carolina yearly for a good portion of my childhood, got to meet a lot of nice Southern folk. However, inner city Myrtle Beach might as well have been a slum. Kind of depressing.
I digress...
I love sweet tea. And really glad McD's has their Southern-Style Sweet Tea here even in Ohio. That stuff is delicious, they do a really good job of replicating the southern authenticity.
I think I still like Raising Cane's take on sweet tea, but they are really similar. Probably just a different brand of tea bags. Both fresh brew it and mix it properly. Amount of sugar might be a little different, but both are perfectly sweet tasting.
Whenever I was sick at home and my mom made me tea, I always had to have it sweet. That is how I got hooked on sweet tea, because I also love iced tea more than hot tea.
Had authentic iced sweet tea one of my first times in Myrtle Beach and was both amazed and hooked.
