McDonalds commercial

i saw was all about keeping fit and staying in shape.
thats pretty funny that they need to run those ads now, to remind people not to loaf about and eat their food all day.

McD's needs no advertising. If people like the food, they'll go there, if not... their minds won't be changed by seeing these new commercials.

I wonder if the "if you haven't looked at Ford lately, look again" commercials are doing anything for the "#1 automaker" in the US ?

You couldn't be more wrong. I think if they didn't advertise they'd go outta business. Do you think they spend hundreds of millions on advertising and in cross promotions with McDisney for fun? heh

Out of business ? That's even more laughable. I'm sorry - everytime I go to McDonald's, it's because I have a craving and head out (or if I'm driving by one of the 3 in my area) - never because I saw one of those commercials and said to myself... I'd love some of that and then head out.

Whoever has never known about McDonald's (before these commercials) has serious problems. It's great they're advertising their new ingredients, but I'd hardly say these constant "I'm lovin' it" commercials are making more people flock to the joint. They don't need to do it.

I find the "I'm lovin' it" theme quite annoying myself.

Although, I do give them credit for the commercials being very professional. It's also nice that they appeal a little more to people over 10.

it actually wasnt an "im lovin' it" one. these were actually aimed at children. done with claymation stuff. about how animals run around and dont sit on their fat asses all day eating mcdonalds.

i dont think they would go out of business without advertising but the ads do work, to an extant.

It's probably been proven that subliminal advertising (like the penis picture in the movie in Fight Club) works well, and from what I understand it has been outlawed.

But when you hear a television ad while you're busy doing something else, when you flip through a magazine looking for an article without concentrating on ads, when you're driving on the highway and catch a billboard with your peripheral vision, when you see a movie with clever product placement -- this is tantamount to the ad being subliminal.

This is when the ads are most effective, when they are below the threshold of your consiousness. I remember lowly whistling a tune as a youth while my mother was across the room. Soon she was whistling the same tune, and when questioned she had no clue as to why she was whistling it.

With the "cradle to grave" style of advertising today, it's impossible to be fully concentrated on every ad out there. Some will pass under the radar of your consious mind and be implanted in your brain.

I had a poll on here a while ago and most here thought that they were unaffected by advertising. Well how many billions are spent on advertising each year? It's obviously quite effective and this, according to my brilliant theory, 😀 is how it is working on you.

Actually, that's 100% not true (about it working). The man who did the intial popcorn and coke study admitted that he made up the results and subsequent studies have shown no effect from subliminal advertising. There can be some placebo effect, but that's the extent of it. For instance, they gave people motivational tapes, in four groups. Group one got a tape with subliminal messages about self-esteem and they were told they were self esteem tapes. Group two got tapes with subliminal messages about relaxation. The other two groups recieved the same tapes but were told they had the other tape. The groups who were told they had the self-esteem tapes reported a higher self-esteem on tests whether they actually had the self-esteem or relaxation tape, and same with the relaxation groups. Subliminal advertising is a load of bs, if you read the many studies that have been done on it.

Thanks, but I haven't cared about anything you've said for many months now.

Professional?

How is... "It's a trippy new day, when I can wrap my hands around a breakfast buffet" professional? It sounds like some retarded kid wrote these songs..."
