mccain will pander to the independents and the VP guy will drag along the conservatives to the polls Nov. 4

Every analyst is pointing to a Governor due to there experience in running a Govt.

Kay-Bailey has been thrown around if Hillary is nominated in order to get some of the moderate woman vote.

Florida Gov. is highly likely as that state has a lot of delegates andit's thougt the Florida Gov. can deliver the state to the Repubs.

Younger is also key due to McCains age.

All of the Pres. hopefuls have been eliminated from every analyst I've seen but expect Rudy to emerge as Attorney Gen or Dir of Homeland Security.

I think Crist would be the best choice, but natch there's gotta be a question as to whether or not he'd want the job.

it's very likely that the republicans will lose Ohio, making Florida a must-win.

Crist has the "confirmed bachelor" problem. He was previously married for about 7 months back in 1979-1980 but there are rumors about him that he may not want to have brought up.
He would most definitely deliver Florida which is critical for McCain but I think McCain may have the edge in Florida regardless i.e. large military vote, retired folks, Cubans especially with Obama's Cuba position etc.

I think the battleground will be in the midwest again so I think McCain will go with a midwest governor or someone to help him with his economic positions.

One thing to keep and eye out for is the inevitable media circus surrounding the upcoming 4k milestone.

We're at 3973 now; losing about 30-something a month. So we should hit 4k right around the end of March.

Huckabee will be out of the race after the 4th, so McCain (aka GWB Jr.) will be left to bear the brunt of that negative press.

I'm sure he knows it, and is preparing for it. It will be interesting to see if McCain's national polling drops the week after we hit 4k.
