Because you are 1). engaging in an Ad Hominem, and 2). obviously misrepresenting whatever he said.

McCain's voting record obviously shows that he doesn't give one shit about veterans and jpeyton shows this with an irrefutable list of links... and you attack jpeyton...
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about...

In a wild west country like Iraq, this sniper was unlucky enough to get caught. I firmly believe our soldiers over there kill without merit or scrutiny because they know they can get away with it.
And that somehow makes it OK for McCain not to support disable Vets?
Come on now Red, I thought you were more intelligent than that.

preslove claimed that someone was "misrepresenting" what JP had said so I set out to get the record straight.
Anyone who really believes that McCain is anti-vet is a fool. And anyone who believes that the anti-war/anti-military Democrats will do a better job of taking care of them is a fool.

And let's not forget that Jim Webb, the Democrats new pro-vet poster boy, is a life long Republican who just recently switched to the Democrat Party.
It's not that he anti Disabled Vet it's that his priorities aren fucked up and I still don't know WTF that has to do with Jpeyton's opinion of our military.

What does Jim Webb have to do with McCain's god awful voting record? Care to defend the post and McCain's actual VOTING RECORD. You state so many times that people go off topic, practice what you preach for once.

One should also consider what pork and/or other things that may have been attached to such bills.

Check out why he voted on such rather than just the vote itself.

But then they may find they have less of a reason to bash the man. Why do that?

So now I guess people's voting records aren't fair game for political discussion. I had no idea. Brilliant tactic there!

If Jpeyton truly believes McCain is anti-military, it seems that would be his perfect candidate then.
OK now that we got that out of the way what say you about the topic of McCain's voting record regarding this issue?

Oh he has lots to say about McCain's voting record... I think to sum it up, its "jpeyton hates the troops". I see a future in conservative politics for nick1985.

You dont find it the least bit ironic/humerous that someone who hates the military is attacking someone for supposedly not supporting the military?

Of course I see the irony, and frankly I don't care. That's not because I'm anti-mccain or pro-jpeyton, its because its a deflection on your part from discussion of the real issue here.

Which is: "Is McCain really pro-troops or does his voting record say otherwise?" You refuse to read the articles and weigh in; instead you make fun of the OP for the ironings and are suggesting that somehow it makes McCain's voting record irrelevant. I just don't understand why you would want to obfuscate the issue, regardless of how much some people's politics bother you.

IMO, this a piss poor issue for Obama to use against McCain.

McCain is known by the general voting public for two things: (1) being a POW/war hero, and (2) being older than dirt.

#1 means this isn't gonna get any traction.

Bringing up the issue just keeps McCain's service record in the fore, and by contrast highlights Obama's lack of experience in military matters etc.

IMO, Obama would do far better to focus on what should be done (note future tense). Anything, other than his initial position on Iraq, looking *backward* isn't the best way to go.

Not to necessarily disagree, but attacking Kerry's war-hero status sure did a lot for Bush last time around. The contrast there is even far greater than in this election - Kerry actually served, fought, killed, etc., whereas Bush hid out in the National Guard with his rich buddies talking about how we should nuke the vietnamese. Republican attack ads managed to pretty well derail Kerry's war record and the public's perception of him as having been a real soldier.

It seems to me like the BHO camp focusing on McCain's voting record could over time end up doing the same for McCain's popular perception as being pro-troops. But I could see it going either way.

According to Hussein, that's just another divisive tactic.
