I know he's trying to help out but this kind of lie will never be believed by anyone, not even McCain's own mother.

McCain sought Palin?s ear ?many times?

John McCain said Wednesday that he has turned to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for advice on foreign policy issues ?many times in the past.?

?She has the world view that I have and is very highly qualified and very knowledgeable,? McCain said during an interview on NPR.

?I?ve turned to her for advice many times in the past, I can?t imagine turning to Senator [Barack] Obama or Senator [Joe] Biden because they?ve been wrong,? the Arizona senator said of his running mate. ?I certainly wouldn?t turn to them, and I?ve already turned to Governor Palin particularly on energy issues and I?ve appreciated her background and knowledge on that and many other issues.?

McCain said his running mate?s energy experience ?extends to a wide variety of issues? including ?her world view of the threats we face from radical Islamic extremism.?

The GOP nominee defended Palin from the flak she has taken over her frequently cited claim that Alaska?s proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy credentials.

?Well I think the fact is that they have had certain relationships, but that?s not a major reason she has stated,? McCain said. ?I?m very proud of her and proud of the knowledge and background she has.?

After defending his running mate?s credentials, the Arizona senator chided the media and his Democratic opponents for questioning Palin?s experience by comparing her situation to those faced by Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton during their runs to the White House.

?Some people, when Ronald Reagan came out of California, thought he was totally unqualified,? McCain said. ?I remember an obscure governor of the state of Arkansas that people said was unqualified. So this kind of thing goes on, usually at Georgetown cocktail parties.?

I guess it depends on how you define "past" and "turn to for advice."

also how you define "highly qualified and "very knowledgeable"

and "background"

I don't think you can define background as the horizon to the west where you can see Russia from her house. :D

HAHAHA

Perfect. Once she is ruined tomorrow, Obama's campaign can bring this quote in conjunction with some choice ones tomorrow. Great ammo.

As long as we're on the subject of experience, I think it's interesting to note that, with two senators running for President, this will be the first time we will elect someone to the presidency who didn't already have significant executive experience of some kind (governorship or vice presidency) since Kennedy in 1960.

Yes, I know, Baghdad Bob, the Americans were defeated at the gates of Baghdad and turned tail to run. The Iraqi army has been victorious and the foreigners routed and in retreat. We'll see tomorrow.

"I have always had 100 percent, absolute truth, that's been my life and putting my country first. I'll match that record with anyone and an assertion that I have ever done otherwise, I take strong exception to." - McCain 10-1-08 article

I didn't know that. Clinton and Huckabee had a lot in common as far as governing experience is concerned.

Does McCain sit down with his campaign manager and bounce these ideas around before shooting off his mouth? Who on his staff has the power to tell him that some of these statements are making him look senile?

You really think his judgment is that bad that he'd actually ask her for advice regarding foreign affairs?

Mccain has shown himself to be utterly w/o shame in his lust for the oval office. It's driven him to become a parody of himself and of repub campaign tactics in general.

His bullshit is so weak that it can't even be piled up... it just splatters...

I think drinking Ensure and Metamucil all day every day did it.
