McCain's big problem -- a hilarious animated political cartoon

While browsing through the forums I came across three topics that were humorously addressed by some animated political cartoons.

Why is Obama going up in the polls and what's dragging McCain down? (This may be the funniest animated political cartoon I've seen in a year; made me laugh my ass off.)

Where is Bush?

Why don't we want the president to be better than us?

Enjoy!

Should the Obama campaign see if they can buy the McCain-Fundamentals cartoon from Mark Fiore and run it nationally as a campaign ad? That would be very funny.

WTF? No one enjoyed that first cartoon and thought it was worth responding to? No one has any comments? No one found it amusing? (This one, I mean)

No one else got a kick out of the ending and the cartoon's overall message?

Wait till your west coast left loon koolies wake up...
Edit: Blocked @ my work

<Sigh>. I really thought McCain opponents would get a kick out of that, but no one wanted to comment for some reason. OK folks--why don't you find that cartoon comment-worthy?

Have you heard the expression, 'one man's meat is another man's poison'? I don't find it funny that McClueless is running running running when the country is in such bad shape. Those people in them unemployment lines are real. It ain't fucking funny and there are many an asshole who supports him. That ain't funny either. It's a fucking sad disaster. I don't think my country turning to shit if front of my eyes is funny. Now if you had some wild man with a running through the crowds blowing Republican's heads off, THAT would be funny.

Meh.. first one was good.. other two I see the point they are making and I even agree with them.. but just wasn't done very funny.

I can see where you're coming from; it would be a funny political cartoon if the reality of the situation weren't so sad. Still, it's a great political cartoon. What's funny is how it slams McCain on the economy along with the surprise appearance of Palin's floating head ("I'm just your average soccer mom") at the end. The point of the cartoon is--"Do you really think these two bozos are going to be able to address the nation's economic problems?"

No, I don't. I still think they'll get elected, though.

That's why I can't really find it funny, the situation is far too serious.

I'm a McCain supporter, and I thought they were pretty funny.

And the fact that Moonbeam doesn't like them proves only that he is an elitist. Hopefully we can find a replacement for him...

Different people appreciate different humor and types of communication.

One person might respond well to this. Another might respond well to a very logical list of arguments against McCain. Another might respond to 'that asshole sold out'.

Even among people with very similar tastes and views - there's a strip on Salon by Tom Tomorrow that it seems every week has responses from one group who thinks it's fantastic and another who hates it. The comics in this thread aren't really my taste, but I thought they were nicely done technically and I'm impressed how fast they are available; and I'm glad you and others like them. I like the message.

Thanks for posting them to share with others who will enjoy.

FYI, here are a couple recent samples of the comic by Tom Tomorrow (I'm a big fan).

The first one is kind of scary how well he nailed it - note it was published in *July*.

Tom calls the bailouts right - in July

A typical strip on the right wing

I think it would be stronger if he had put McCain's comments in chronological order. Also, the end would have been very strong if he had added in McCain's economic epiphany that came only earlier this week.

I must have missed it, what was the "epiphany"?

In the morning, McCain said 'the fundamentals of our economy are strong'.

Two or three hours later, he said 'the fundamentals of our economy are at risk', and that we have an economic crisis, according to clips like The Daily Show as I recall.

After that, he and Palin tried to claim that the phrase 'the fundamentals of our economy' just meant we had a darned nice workforce - nothing about growth, inflation, unemployment, global competition, availabilty of capital, collapse of Wall Street firms and banks, and so on.

Apparently they were just debunking any rumors such as that suddenly our workforce had suddenly become crack addicts, for those who were worried.

For those who like the humor in this thread, I suggest you check out The Funny Times.

It's a small newspaper of political humor, cartoons and articles. No ads.

They send you a free issue to check out.

I am gonna go subscribe now, was meaning to.🙂
