Also I recall a poll where the country identified John McCain as the Republican leader or face of the party. After this win, I see the Maverick giving just about everyone fits. Republican and Democrat.

My guess is that Republican voters are such assholes you have to become one yourself to get elected. Folk want representation.

In my district the most radical nutjob won the Rep nomination for Congress. His campaign signs carried the tag "Radical Conservative". This is a traditionally Republican district but I think the center right, woulda been a Republican in decades past, Dem incumbent is going to be an incumbent again.

The tea bagger in AK has a small lead right now and he was outspent 20 to 1. Palin was backing him and doing calls for him so that I guessed helped.

I won't say no but can you think of an example as spectacular as McCain?

Looks to me like a very senior rep got re-elected. There's not much to read into this one unless you want to.

Arizonian Republicans saw Democrats LOLing at the whackjob Tea Party candidates elected in other primaries thus far and considered their odds.

One positive thing to say about McCain is that he is one of a very few (maybe three or four) GOP senators that are willing-on rare occassion-to vote other than what their shop bosses direct.

It is pretty irrelevant what individual GOP candidates say-their management sets the policy and votes, always.

Joe Miller:

... Though the remote state has historically been dependent on federal resources, Miller has argued that the growing national debt shows the need for change.

"It's a new political era in Alaska," he said in an interview last week. "We depend on federal government transfers, and if the federal government goes bankrupt, Alaska will be the most harmed."

Waiting for the talk radio la-la land peoples to come in and say some stupid shit like "Eyes wide open, middle america taking freedumb back."

Who would have guessed? The whole Teaparty National Front was a overhyped foxnews/talk radio manufactured republican fail all along.

Looks like a Palin endorsement is pretty much a guaranteed win. 11 of her endorsements have won versus only one of Obama's.

Sadly proof that the previous 8 years of catering to the lowest possible common denominator is working and now the dumbest people alive in Amerikkka will be running it
