"I'm going to run a respectful campaign" - John McCain

Hypocrite who?

Now that he's losing FL/OH, McCain isn't just going negative, he's going personal and ad hominem. Next up will be Obama in a turban or something.

If you're going to lose, maybe go down with some dignity.

Look, air the ad if you want, play the clip of Obama saying "fundamentals", and let people make up their minds. But when you throw the word HYPOCRITE up on the screen in bold caps, I think you're going to turn people off.

that's pretty tame, actually.

Which ad run so far by either side is on par with directly calling the other person a hypocrite? Even the 'kingergarten sex' ad was something a normal person could laugh at since it asked the viewer to believe Obama (and half the Illinois legislature) wanted 6 year olds taught about intercourse and safe sex. It didn't throw up "PEDOPHILE" in big letters at the end of the ad either.

The kindergarten sex ad was true though. Obama has ssaid he supports it - and his campaign has said SIECUS standards are a model. The weirdo "stranger danger" was just a cover. Its always telling when the O-peeps express shock that BO would ever do such a thing when he did. Shows they dont know their man.
You've been called out on this time and time again.

The kindergarten sex ad was and is still a disgusting lie.

The thought process which leads to the conclusion of Hypocrisy went over my head. Too erudite for my comprehension.

But If you're going to lose the election why not go out with bitterness and recriminations and leave the country divided and full of hate. That's what I would do if I put my country above my personal ambitions.

i haven't looked at all the ads (one benefit of living in a non-competitive state), but which are jingoist?

even if no other ad rises to the level that this one does, it's still a tame ad. that all the other ads may be more tame doesn't mean this one isn't.

Absolutely asinine ad.

It is weak. McCain's people should make an ad showing how BO was suing banks with ACORN
to make them take on more bad loans. Hopefully there are ads exposing all of BO's money and staff from the Fannie/Freddie peeps. Obama is abso-freeking-lutely filthy with connections to all that went wrong in financial mess.
if you are approaching this same issue with BO and ACORN with the same amount of lies you approached the issue with Obama and sex ed.

then no one will believe a word you say.

Now expand that sentiment to include all the right wing bloggers, all the blessed and devoted GOP followers and understand that even though you may think that you have the 'goods' on Obama and Ayers and Rezco and whatever else the MSM "biased" media isn't showing us.

NO ONE will believe a word you or any of your comrades say.

That is what happens when you loose credibility. You lost yours a loooooong time ago.

Get your head out of your ass and look around!

Watch this ad and tell me that Obama is not a hypocrite:
Obama campaign ad

You're a putz and you cannot be helped. Go back to 1st grade, take a reading comprehension course, stop doing the drugs, then re-read my op, then edit your post to address anything I said.

And here's the full context:
http://hotair.com/archives/200...-fundamentals-comment/

This post pretty much won this thread. It proved without a doubt that the McCain ad is a blatant falsehood and that McCain thinks that taking statements out of context and in mid-sentence is the same as quoting someone.

Really, anyone who still supports McCain needs a surgical procedure at this point to get their head pulled out of their ass.

Agreed. This is not a case of exaggeration or interpretation. This is yet another example of a McCain ad telling an outright LIE. It's one thing to claim that Obama will raise taxes and to leave out the details that only people making a lot of money every year will see a tax increase. At least that's not lying. In this case, though, there's really no excuse.

John McCain was a man,
Once a big man!
But he turned into a snit,
What a snippy little shit was he.

John McCain was a man,
Once a big man!
He was wrong for the country
As a pandering ol' Con could be.

With a sneer on his lips, contempt for us all,
with calcified bone for a brain;
The spurious hypocrite campaign Fall
America sees McCain.

What a 'tard, what a loser
No nightmare come-er-true-er than he!

(My apologies to Daniel Boone :D)

"Fundamentals" highlights how disturbingly out of touch John McCain is with what's going in the lives of ordinary Americans. On a day when Wall Street was in crisis John McCain continued to insist that the "fundamentals of the economy are strong."

Actual text of the speech which the McCain snipped out of context:

?We don?t just need a plan for bankers and investors, we need a plan for autoworkers and teachers and small business owners. I have said it before and I?ll say it again: we need to pass, after this immediate crisis is over, an economic stimulus plan. Right now. For working families ? a plan that will help folks cope with rising food and gas prices, that can save one million jobs by rebuilding our schools and our roads, and help states and cities avoid budget cuts and tax increases. A plan that would extend expiring unemployment benefits. For those Americans who have lost their jobs and have been working hard to find a new one, but haven?t found one yet. That?s part of the change we need.
And then after this immediate problem, we?ve got the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows. Change means a tax code that doesn?t reward the lobbyists who wrote it, but the American workers and small businesses that deserve it. As president I am going to eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups. That?s how we?ll grow our economy and create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow.
