Since we do not know who is our friend and who is our enemy whats to say we don't end up funding a war against ourselves in another region?

Does it matter? As long it produces jobs and keeps the economy going what's your problem dude?

When McCain met Gaddafi a couple of years ago, he commented that Gaddafi was an interesting man. He shook his hand, smiled for the photo op, and seemed perfectly at home chatting him up on his "ranch" in Libya.

Looks like he has now dropped him as fast as he did the "no torture" position he had way back when.
do you disagree that he's an interesting man?

It's quite simple - he who gives us the cheapest oil is our best friend.

Things get fucked up in Libya, we blame France, not McCain ;)

See how this discussion *should* be?

It should be a question of what will happen if Qaddafi wins, versus the rebels winning. Instead you wanted your thread to discuss if McCain supports terrorists.

Is a win for the rebels a win for Al Qaeda? The truth is, you don't know until that day comes. A win for Qaddafi might be a win for Al Qaeda, I bet you'll find people within Qaddafi's forces with ties to Al Qaeda. I also bet you'll find people argue that the U.S. staying neutral in this conflict is also a win for Al Qaeda.

My personal opinion is Al Qaeda will "win" no matter what we do anywhere in any situation, so long as we allow the partisan hacks to use the fear of Al Qaeda to attack and divide ourselves from within. Or to put more eloquently "stop reading blogs" :p
