I'm pretty positive that Edwards is going to be Kerry's running mate, which should provide for a very solid ticket. Edwards is well liked in the South, and he can bring some charisma and charm to the Kerry campaign.

Jump in wayback machine to about a year ago. Replace above name with Kerry. Wait about a year.....dangit!
Its bad enough someone about as exciting as well...a waffle...will get the dems nomination for president, but to pick Gephardt, he'd be sunk imho. McCain would be good for the dems, but lets face it...that was a pure pipe dream on their part (and for many in the general public). Edwards might be tolerable as VP though, but he doesn't take away from the fact that Kerry is the main candidate for the dems. Of course Bush isn't exactly the pick of the litter either for the republicans as someone as say McCain or Powell could be (if given the chance/wanted the chance/etc). They could lock up the presidency for another two terms if they put another, more respectable candidate in the running instead of Bush as well, but it won't happen. This is a sad, sad choice come November.
