McCain hits the nail on the head......

You know I did not think to highly of John McCain...that is until now.....

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/john-mccain-unloads-tea-party-200836239.html -- there is also a very interesting video.....

Frustrated by the sniping of conservative critics who opoose House Speaker John Boehner's plan to raise the debt ceiling, Arizona Sen. John McCain unleashed on tea party groups Wednesday.

The former Republican presidential candidate went on a tirade against conservative groups that are urging House members to reject Boehner's plan, and pulled a few lines from this morning's Wall Street Journal editorial which dismissed them as "tea party hobbits."

"The idea seems to be that if the House GOP refuses to raise the debt ceiling, a default crisis or gradual government shutdown will ensue, and the public will turn en masse against . . . . Barack Obama," McCain said, quoting the Journal article. "The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor."

"This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell into GOP Senate nominees," McCain added, still reading from the article.

While Boehner and the Republican leadership are busy piecing together a plan they think can pass the Democratic-controlled Senate, major conservative groups--including an organized caucus of members within the House--are urging members to vote against him. Tea party support helped usher in many of the 87 Republican House freshman elected last November--and a significant number in that class are now aiding the revolt against GOP leadership.

So... where in the f*** is the House vote? The Senate was suppose to vote it down tonight.

Boehner can't scare up the votes?

out with the old and in with the new....the old polititians are just going with the status quo.... we need the fire that these teaparty members bring to the table. at least they're doing something about trying to move our country in a better, sustainable direction

Boehner actually said something quite similar on Laura Ingraham yesterday.

So now the lefties are endorsing McCain? LOL.

How agreeing with an isolated remark equates to "endorsing" someone is beyond me. Oh yeah, I forgot, you're a foaming at the mouth ideologue who thinks you're either all on one "team" or all on the other.

Pretty much. He is calling ALL R's in the house and grilling them. Even with that he is not 100% sure so hes wasting time with this stunt while ALL us citizens will pay for this through higher rates.

They just delayed the House vote on the plan. Concern that there may not be enough votes to pass.

Ah come on, give him a break. Everyone knows he can't stand her but it's impolitic for him to say so.
It'd suck but his political loegacy will be that he enabled that addle brained bitch. He mentions Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell but if it weren't for that Alaskan Power Hungry Whore they would never had been nominated and that falls squarely on his shoulders..well his and Rupert Murdoch's and the fools the believe the bullshit that's spewed on his News Network.

McCain is a relic. The time is now to take away his money so he can't lose anymore wars in this country name.

Is "bitch" and "whore" really necessary? 🙄

So true.

I think I mentioned this McCain rant in some other thread, but man, I just laughed myself silly when I heard his hobbit comment and how he attempted to put those Tea Party FNG's in their place both seniority-wise and influence-wise. What a glorious spanking that was. And I mean that in a non-partisan way.

Love your avatar Red. Way cool.

Believe me, I know Jedi Y and he is no liberal. But still there may be a right and the left political mainstream, but tea party nuts come from either lala land or outer space.

But still, in this case, I agree with the OP. Because in this case JediY and John McCain make valid points because they live in reality as it is. Just like our founding fathers did. The sheer genius of the American constitution is getting compromise right.

Or as ole Ben Franklin said, we all have to hang together as it beats being hanged separately. There is only a I in ideology and no W or E's in we the people. Nor should we allow it to be the tea party way or the highway.

Less than 100 tea party nuts in an American legislative branch of 535 somehow think they are the lone deciders. How curious quaint and idiotic.

Notice how the Palestinian and Israel supporters come together at the very idea that their perpetual, disgusting conflict may come to an end. Strike these warmongers down now!

McCain truly earned his RINO nicknames this week: McSame, McShame, McLame. Place the blame firmly on small powerless splinter groups and kick the can down the road, everything will be fine for another year. Great plan.

What are you talking about? If you don't use a W or and E how are you going to spell "we"?

As I pointed out on another thread, the tea party nuts think they are on a mission from God, just like Ossama Bin Laden David Korsesh, Jim Jones, and so many others.

As for me, I will be damned before I drink their suicide koolaid.

But if the tea party nuts reduce the US triple AAA credit rating which it looks like their brinkmanship has already made inevitable, tea partiers will be lucky to escape being hung from the nearest Washington DC lamp posts.
