I just setup MBM 5, and it's finally displaying my CPU temp. At first it was right, it displayed 42 C, but suddenly it jump to -12 C. And it keeps going down, now it's at -21 C. I mean it's all nice if my CPU is at that temp, but I doubt it since it's air cooling. Any ideas on how to fix this? Anyways, I got a k7s5a and XP 1700.

it takes a few seconds to update the info in mbm5 you chose one and it read 42c but did you try a few before finding that one?if so go back and reset it to one of the others and apply wait 5 sec or so and try again until you are displaying it right

hope this helps

You configured the wrong sensors OulOat. The MBM website has a list of the sensors you need, but you're lucky I have a K7S5A with MBM5, so here they are :)

CPU temp sensor - Sis950/ITE8705F-3
Motherboard/Case temp sensor - Sis950/ITE8705F-2

You're using the Sis950/ITE8705F-1, which isn't used in the K7S5A and will display erratic values. Ignore it and change it to the correct sensor.

I thought I set it to 3, but apparently I set it to 3 diode. What does the diode mean anyway, besides a circuit component that lets current flow once a certain voltage has been reached. And a more general question, how accurate are these temp reading?

Edit----
Is there any way to check my Geforce 3's temp? I just install a Crystal Orb, and it gets hotter than my CPU heatsink. And I'm a retard for not know that's the CPU diode temp.

The diode is a thermal diode, basically its like a thermometer that measures the temperature. Its embedded in the CPU, but some motherboards don't take advantage of it, but rather rely on an on board sensor/diode to measure the CPU temp instead. I can't remember if the K7S5A is one of them though. The temps aren't meant to be extremely accurate, but just give you a general ballpark. They are repeatable and consistent within the same system, but just don't compare it with other people, it wouldn't be comparable/accurate.

As for you GF3 temps, the motherboard doesn't support anything like that, so the only way you could find out the temps would be to attach your own thermal diode or other temp sensor to the GPU and fix some sort of display LED/LCD so you can tell the temp - sorta clunky but it'll work.
