Apparently there is a problem with AHCI not being automatically enabled when using Bootcamp to install Win7 on MBA, MBP and other Apple computers.

There is now a fix but it does not allow the unit to resume from sleep in AHCI mode.

http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/f...ing-AHCI-for-Windows-on-MBP-2011-now-possible

I currently have a 12" Lenovo Thinkpad 1440x900 and there seems to be no 13" Sandy Bridge high res replacement. The best that I can find is a Mac Air 2011 13" which also has the 1440x900.

But there is this annoying problem with the AHCI which Anand in his wonderfully detailed review of the MBA with performance benchmarks did not bring up.

Is there any way to fix the MBA 2011 to work with AHCI, Win7, and wake up from sleep with AHCI?

It is really a pity that Lenovo did not come up with an equivalent machine to the Mac Air 2011 13".... No 17 W TDP, no high res screen and heavier on their 13" X1.

BTW, I hope Anand will update the review to show benchmarks with and without AHCI... :)

TIA

Many thanks

considering there is no EFI access to AHCI settings, I doubt there is any fix until Apple updates their BootCamp drivers.

Thank you. This is a wonderful resource. After looking at the thread, for my purposes it probably will not make much of a difference not to have AHCI.
