I need a MB for an Intel PIII 800 Slot 1 100mhz FSB. I just need an inexpensive stable solution, no overclocking.

Recommendations?

Thanks!

Hey guy i could be wrong but i think you should chuck that intel right in the garbage can :) Thats only my suggestion. Athlon is the way to go.

For sure the ATHLON is the best choice. But since you already have the PIII cpu, thats what it sounds like, you might have choices like Asus(P3V4X) and Abit, I think they are the best, and very stable mobos. I think you gonna find some affordable prices on those brands.

If you don't want to deal with the VIA drivers, get Asus P3B-F. I have that along with the P3V4X.

If inexpensive is what you want, Try a QDI board. they are pretty decent overall for a good price.. or try a Gigabyte board

if you want to take a bit of a step up, maybe look into like the above suggestion says and go with a P3B-F or P3V motherboard

also, Soyo slot 1 boards are great.. I have 2 in my house and no complaints at all. - SY-6VBA133, SY-6BA+IV

You can allways try an Intel board, stable and should be cheap for a slot 1 cpu.

Stay away from the P3V4X or you will likely suffer the unresolvable "cold boot" issue!

I had exactly the same needs as you, I chose the Soyo 7IYS2 815EP board. Its under a $100 at Mwave, is high quality, reliable, and unexpectedly it came with a free copy of both Norton Antivirus and Norton Ghost.
