There are forms of female circumcision that are equivalent (mainly removal of the clitoral hood). What they do here is an order of magnitude more horrific than male circumcision though.

So the MB in Egypt wants to legalize female genital mutilation which was previously outlawed with Mubarak. This practice is just despicable, there is no medical justification for it and it should be outlawed.

Islamic apologists maintain this has nothing to do with Islam even though it does.

Female circumcision is used to control and inhibit woman's sexuality (unlike male circumcision) because backward men can't tolerate that, there is no medical reasoning for it and it is detrimental to a woman's sex life and can make sex very uncomfortable and painful.

Ok, are they gone? Good. A minimal amount of background should show that this isn't a Muslim thing, it's an African one and I bet you know where Egypt is. The practice has been going on regardless of faith since the time of the ancient dynasties. MB may be allowing
a return, but Islam is irrelevant here.

Also there is an assumption on the part of some that men are responsible. Maybe in a few cases, but the greatest proponent are women who have had it done to them and consider it a rite of passage.

that....it was only in 2008 that they saw how dangerous genital mutilation is, it will take alot of time for the practice stop.

based on the OP link, genital mutilation is still illigal, and will be shut down when the police have more control over the caotic society
