I am looking to upgrade my computer. I am thinking about getting i5-3570K, and MB with Virtu ? (is this option worth it)
I would like to get a MB with ATX, 5.1 onboard sound, with 4 memory socket.
5 year warrantty is nice but 3 year is not bad either.
In past I have use Gigabyte, and Asus, and I was pleased with the product.
Getting a tech support was another deal.
Asus and MSI have local RMA dept here. So if price and feature are same I will go with ASus, or MSI.
I am not sure what else even look into it.
I have 6970 GPU, Sata 6 SSD, with Win 7 Pro Sp1.
I do have a Hyper 212 for cooling.......
90% it will be use for Facebook and youtube video
10 % battle field, Bio shock, Need for speed, and GNS3 (Emulator for CISCO routers) with 7-8 routers
Please advise me what would be good MB. An inexpensive MB usally take cake. I had horriable experince wih ECS MB because FRYs electronics sold stupid Combo which has fried CPU and then it has killed it self! So ECS for me
Thanks
Mir

Hi Mir96TA,

GIGABYTE has a local RMA dept in US as well hmm I'm not quite sure where exactly you are located but hopefully it is close to you.

In regards to the board itself, do you have an approx budget?

If you are willing to shell out $200 I would go with the UP4 because of the new design on the power phase. And it has the Virtu (Don't feel its a necessity, personally myself I've never really used it but having extra features is better than not having it when you need it.)

Warranty is a limited warranty for 3 years the onboard sound meets your requirements i believe. If you are looking for something in the lower price range let me know and I'll give you some feedback on that as well :)

Well I am in Toronto, Canada :D
I was looking $100 ? Am I dreaming ? May be $150
$200 will be tear up my budget :)
How new design will help ?
I understand more phase allow better O.C.
I am not going to Over Volt at all, however I do not mind O.C. with Stock Volts or may be undervolt ;)

Hhmmm =/ $100? I think is hard for a decent Board thats intel based unless you want to go another chipset, but I personally prefer Z Chipset because I like the cache feature.

The new digital powerphase design helps in that it reduces heat on the VRM's so overall if you were using a waterblock with no airflow around the Mosfets you should be able to maintain a more stable overclock without reducing the life of the board as drastically.

If you are going to be doing O.C. then definitely get a digital power design board. If you can wait GIGABYTE will be releasing some new boards with a digital power phase design and more budget friendly without losing too many features. If you can't, then I would recommend possibly the GA-Z77X-UD3H. Its currently $150 USD on newegg.com and the price isn't that far off from the d3h model. It has virtu and can basically handle everything you listed.

Hmmm from what I'm hearing possibly in 1 month span it should start trickling in. Don't quote me on it though but pretty soon i'm sure.

To be honest the VIA chipset for audio... to me I can't really tell the difference from another one but I can tell you the functionality itself is awesome. I connect my Computer Speakers and my TV speakers to the computer line and you're able to change another connection to something else.

E.g. Change Line out or Line in to become another speaker output.

One more thing I am not going to get benfit Z 77 caching. Cause I am going to use SSD.
So that particular feature I am not going to get a benfit. If I can use in-expensive chipset; I am fine with that.
I think ASRock requuire send RMA to US (Extra time and Customs to deal with it)
Don't ASRock have only one year warrantty ?
