Have a microATX i810e based Dell Dimension L800R.

When I got the system planned on installing a V4/5. But then things did not go as planned for 3DFX.

Anyway I'm faced with putting in a SDR version of the radeon or waiting for the KyroII pci to come out OR upgrading my MB.

So: Has anyone upgraded the i810e MB on the Dell Dimension Ls to a non-dell based AGP video board????

Really want to retain my onboard ethernet, but the onboard sound and video can go!!!!

You cannot put a retail Motherboard in you Dell Case. The Dell boards, although based on retail boards, are a little different. One major difference is the power connector to the motherboard. Even if you overcame that, chances are you would not get the slots, etc to line up properly. Your best bet would be a new case w/PS and motherboard. Then strip the parts from the Dell. I used to frequent the DellTalk Forum when I owned one and that was one of the top complaints/questions that came up. Lots of P#%%ed off people there.

DOH!!!!!

Perhaps I should go back to the V5 solution I originaly intended???

I really like the size and quietness of the Dimension L case.

Sigh......

The V5 is still the fastest PCI solution out there bar none, the existing drivers are solid so I'd say it's your best choice in this case.
