MB/CPU incompatible?

From a Google search, it appears that CPU would work in that motherboard. PcPartpicker and MSI website shows they are compatible as well.

Are you positive you didn't make a mistake on the model of the motherboard?
 
Maybe you got culturally enlightened by Amazon?

OP: Are you sure it was shipped from and sold by Amazon?

I know a lot of times now when I shop on there, if a 3rd party is selling the item cheaper than Amazon, many times they automatically select that seller.

I've had to manually go and select Amazon as the seller because their total cost was a few more dollars.
