Mazda3 owners

What are they actually going to do besides change the oil, rotate the tires and look at the underside?

Think mine cost $20. the price of an oil change. I really haven't had any of the services done besides changing oil at 5k intervals, putting new tires on at 30k miles(rotating at 7.5k), and having the air filter changed at 35k. Almost 40k miles now, I may have the 50k mile service done if the price isn't too bad.

15,000 mile service???

I did nothing but oil changes and tire rotations until 30k on my '06 3s GT Hatch. 30k is when I had the ATX fluid replaced and a front-end alignment along with an oil change and another rotation (I replaced the air filter myself). The next time I go in for an oil change (at 40k), I'll get cabin air filter replaced.

if you look at certain mazda dealer websites, they have appointments for maintanance for every 5k or 10k miles.

That's another income stream for the dealer. I bought my my a '99 Protege and never took it in for scheduled maintenance. I had about $450 worth of work done on it at 60K miles. It needed a new water pump, etc.

ofcourse....but they need to make money somehow. Supplies are not get any cheaper.

they also still tell you to come in every 3k for an oil change when the manual says every 5k or 7k.
