I don't think it needs turbo.
.
but it'll probably come with factory twin turbo .. like the 3rd gen

I think it needs fog lights tho..

the front looks like it's nekkid without em~

i wish people stopped caring about high revving engine so there'd be more low end torque engines.

(btw this car has 4 doors, not 3)

I wonder how quick it is compared to the FD RX-7..

it actually has less torque than the FD due to lack of turbos, so I think it will be a tad bit slower.

and what will the new 4th gen RX-8 called? the FE?

Hey I had one of the first Mazda Rx-7's back in the dark ages (1979 or so).... I remember that engine blew up and there was a class action lawsuit from a whole bunch of unhappy Mazda owners.

Hopefully Mazda has gotten their act together and can build a reliable rotary. But I wouldn't buy one until its proven itself for a few years.

Don't think it should be FE.. It's not an RX-7. :\

it needs a turbo.........that thing is not a 'sports' car the way it is.
Read the Autoweek preview. Its not meant to be 'sports' car. It's a sport sedan - with the heavy emphasis on sport.
in a way, it's suppossed to be the successor of the rx7. the rx7 was a sports car, the rx8 is just a wannabe.....

all i'm saying is that many mazda fans, including myself, will be very disappointed if they don't come out with a blown version.

i would not touch a rotary engine unless i had money to burn. I have a good friend who went thru 2 FD RX-7 and was loved the cars but was scared everyday to drive them. One actually had the engine catch on fire...so he got tired of all the rotary probs and bought a S4 instead,

Can somebody explain to me what makes a "sports car" a sports car? Is it a specified amount of power? Certain times? It can't be functional? What exactly?

What the hell are you talking about? Mazda reps have made it a point on several occasions stress that this is not the RX-7 successor. This is a sport sedan (fine, vi_edit, sports car:)).
?This is the right car for Mazda at this time. It is not an RX-7 replacement. We aren?t targeting the RX-7 buyer, who is a younger male.? But will it induce lust? ?I think for some of the customers, it will,? Callum says. ?For a lot of people RX-8 will induce lust. And it will be a car that people will be able to get, and get in to.?
When Mazda does decide to make a proper replacement to the RX-7, you'll know it.

mazda may not think so, but most every mazda fan looks up to the rx8 to fill in the gap that occured when the rx7 was discontinued.

hopefully, if/when they do make a proper replacement, it won't be long.

2 Questions:

1) What does Ford have to do with a Mazda designed and manufactured vehicle?
2) Why is every idiot on the internet allowed to post on these forums?

Last I checked, Ford owned a portion of Mazda, but nowhere near "owning them". Has this changed?
