it needs a turbo.........that thing is not a 'sports' car the way it is.I don't think it needs turbo.
Read the Autoweek preview. Its not meant to be 'sports' car. It's a sport sedan - with the heavy emphasis on sport.Originally posted by: masterxfob

Hope they'll come out with a version that seats two, has more torque, and a beefier suspension..
I wonder how quick it is compared to the FD RX-7..

it actually has less torque than the FD due to lack of turbos, so I think it will be a tad bit slower.
and what will the new 4th gen RX-8 called? the FE?
in a way, it's suppossed to be the successor of the rx7. the rx7 was a sports car, the rx8 is just a wannabe.....Originally posted by: KnightBreed

i would not touch a rotary engine unless i had money to burn. I have a good friend who went thru 2 FD RX-7 and was loved the cars but was scared everyday to drive them. One actually had the engine catch on fire...so he got tired of all the rotary probs and bought a S4 instead,
Not to mention the back...and the 9000 rpm redline...Originally posted by: BCYL
The front really reminds me of the S2000... Esp in that first pic from the link...
What the hell are you talking about? Mazda reps have made it a point on several occasions stress that this is not the RX-7 successor. This is a sport sedan (fine, vi_edit, sports carOriginally posted by: masterxfob

all i'm saying is that many mazda fans, including myself, will be very disappointed if they don't come out with a blown version.
When Mazda does decide to make a proper replacement to the RX-7, you'll know it.?This is the right car for Mazda at this time. It is not an RX-7 replacement. We aren?t targeting the RX-7 buyer, who is a younger male.? But will it induce lust? ?I think for some of the customers, it will,? Callum says. ?For a lot of people RX-8 will induce lust. And it will be a car that people will be able to get, and get in to.?

Can somebody explain to me what makes a "sports car" a sports car? Is it a specified amount of power? Certain times? It can't be functional? What exactly?
