Just out of curiousity, what was it that turned you off.

I hear more and more stories everyday. The main reason why I would rather have the Nissan then waiting for this (even though I like both) is because of all the maintenance horror stories I've heard around here at work.

I know 3 people who have new Mazda's. Two of them have Mazda 3's and have had problems since Day one, and another I know well who has been getting rides to and from work daily now for a week, her brand new 6 is in the shop with transmission problems.

Now you know 4 people. I have a brand new 2006 Mazda 3s GT Hatch. 1100 on the odo right now with no problems (well duh, it's brand new).

Wow NFS4, I seem to remember when you were "poised on the precipice" of Scion tC. :shocked:

what exactly were the problems in the 3's? Auto-trans is the only thing I'd be a little worried about, not a strong suit in mazda's history.

as for my 3, my only complaint is an annoying ticking and rattling under the dash somewhere. The next time I'm free, I'm ripping out my dash and finding the damn source of it. Other than that... I can't wait for the spring so I can auto-x some more 🙂

Yea the female co-worker got an auto, so thats probably the issue there. The other male coworker has lots of complaints. I guess the brakes are noisy, also like you said the interior quality seems to rattle for him. He had some other things to say, but overall he was just unhappy with it.

I bought a brand new Blach Cherry Shinka Edition Fully Loaded RX-8 And thought it was pretty bad a$$. After driving it for a few days, i noticed way too many beeps and reminders and sensors that could be set off. My tire pressure was just a little low in my right front and the sensor went crazy. The car was really kinda sluggish through the lower part of the RPM band and quite powerul at the top, normal but a better balance would have been nice. I will say the car handled unbelievable well, but its tendancy to understeer was not appreciated. It rode like a go-kart and i'm used to more of a luxury ride. I would not recommend this car a daily driver. I'll admit that it really is one of the coolest looking rides around, but not a very good value. would've expected alot more for 35 grand. I did by a Pontiac G6 GTP 6speed and absolutely love it. so many more options, XM, ONstar, Heated seats, room... its great so far....

*sigh* Mazda had some decent-looking cars for a while there. Too bad they seem to be sharing stylists with Toyota and Nissan now. That is one ugly vehicle.

aren't you the only person on the planet that likes the old M45?

Yeah, pretty ugly.

Looks a lot better than Subaru's B5 Tribeca, will this Mazda be available w/a manual transmission in NA?

The Tribeca would had been a hit if it wasn't so ugly up front, and not a lot of people are going to pay $30K+ for a Subaru.

make me the second. I like the old one more than the cyborg-looking new one.

would these analogies be correct?

Subaru Legacy : Subaru Outback :: Mazda 6 : Mazda CX-7

or

Audi A6 : Audi Allroad :: Mazda 6 : Mazda CX-7

?

if you bought it expecting a luxury car then no wonder you were disappointed. it is a sports car and drives as such.

They both seem correct to me.

interesting. the idea would be great for my mom... but... well.. i don't think she'll like the styling... she's a bit more traditional. But likes the 6. I'm just not sold on the auto's yet.
