I like VW hatches. The 3 hatch looks like sh!t. 😛

I'm hurt. I'm really hurt. I'm gonna go cry in a corner in a puddle of my own urine 🙁

qft.

needless weight up top for the rollover and reduced cornering stability and more body roll ftl.

Um, actually I think in many cases, wagons/hatches have better handling due to better weight distrobution than their sedan counterparts.

the Mazda 3 is FWD more rear weight just slows it down.

as for rwd hatches, the more weight up top takes away the advantage of more weight in the rear. Besides, they have the option of adding weight on a coupe in the underbody back area to weight it down in the trunk to the same weight, gut the advantages of that is the weight will be low and the center of gravity will likely decrease.

😛 Seriously, I love how the 3 sedan looks, but the hatch just looks like crap. You can talk about "usability" all day long but you don't use that usability 99% of the time.

Does a fwd car with 265 hp still have a big problem with torque steer?

If they can manage to put an equal length axel system in it torque steer should be kept to a minimum. Otherwise you end up with something like a v6 Mercury Cougar.

I like the looks of both, but the hatch may be a little bit better looking. The hatch has more pronounced fenders front and rear, a more sculpted hood and doesn't suffer from "Abrupt Butt" syndrome.

The difference in weight is probably negligible, and if you are any good at visualizing mechanical things, it should be obvious that it doesn't raise the center of gravity more than fraction of a centimeter, if at all. The practicality is more than worth it.
