Maybe we should give it to them...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- With international pressure mounting against Pyongyang's decision to resume its nuclear program, North Korea said Tuesday that economic sanctions against it would amount to an act of war.

The hard-line message came as the United States, South Korea and Japan held a second day of talks in Washington on how to deal with North Korea, which kicked out nuclear inspectors last week after announcing it had resumed a nuclear weapons program in breach of previous agreements.

"Sanctions mean a war and the war knows no mercy," read an editorial on the official Korea Central News Agency.

"The U.S. should opt for dialogue with the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea], not for war, clearly aware that it will have to pay a very high price for such reckless acts."

I know there are numerous threads on this but I think today's little quip deserves some new discussion. Why don't we just give them what they want?

Cool, don your uniform, helmet, M-16 and lead the front line.
I think that may be the only course of action. It's not like we can help the fact that they're a bunch of starving communists... You'd think they would have learned from Russia. I really wish these countries would get their own acts together and leave us the heck alone. 😛

I'm with you. It's time to call their bluff. They no more want war, which would lead to the wackos in power now being deposed, than Rosie O'Donnell wants a salad instead of a donut.

All N. Korea is trying to do is play a game of brinksmanship. They successfully bluffed President Clinton into giving them $, food, etc.. and they think they can do the same thing with the current administration. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wrong. It's time to call their bluff and make them play their hand.

what would happen if they just came out and said f**** the world. We will do what we wante to do and u try to stop us.

I think the big fear of them even starting up that old nuclear facility is that there is potential for them to sell arms to other countries... I doubt we're really afraid of N.K... I could understand them being angry at Bush though....that whole "Axis of Evil" thing he said were strong and disrespectful words.

That's essentially what they have already done.

I was watching FOX news last night and there were two individuals from
World Hunger or something to that effect was being interviewed.

One of the individual stated that USA is giving $600 million worth of food
to NK each year. But she also stated that she doesn't know if all of the
donated food is going to the starving people or the government, since
NK has been limiting any kind of monitoring.

I feel sad for the starving people in NK. The NK government especially
their dictator is a loose cannon and him and his cronies needs to be
eliminated.

Another thing I'm not happy about is SK's governments lackluster invovement.
They really need to be proactive and take a lead rather than US, after all,
it is their country who will be in line of sight of NK.

ye but they are still willing to talk. Im saying if they just totall cut alll communication everything. Decided to cut all deplomatic ties with everyone etc.

Just more rhetoric from a desperate government of a failed nation. They can spout all the garbage they want but it doesn't look as if it will get them anywhere this time. Bush and crew seem to be for the most part viewing this as the tantrum of a psychotic child.
