So does this mean people will stop whining about Walmart now, and admit they're at McDonalds every day -not to protest against 'da man' and his minimum wage- but to add another Big Mac to their fat asses? Does this mean untalented dipshits will stop whining that da man "outserced err jurbs?"

I took a lesson from watching some little kids playing in a park, where all they had were sticks for oars and miracles of miracles, the oars turned into thundersticks when needed. They had a thick broken branch for a mighty vessel and t-shirts for sails.

They were having the time of their lives and I was reliving my youth through them and felt awfully thankful for it.

Life is good.

The usual people will be in here shortly to point out that those at the top have risen a lot faster than those in the middle and that's not "fair".
 
Just take a quick look at other countries around the world and it's very evident we live lives of extreme comfort.

Each year goes by people seem to distance themselves more and more from each other (despite facebook, twitter, text messaging, etc.) and I think that's a large part of the problem in US morale. But what can you do other than make the effort to stay in personal contact with those who are around you?

Anyone can cherry pick examples to make everything look like roses and sunshine or the opposite as well. However real insight and fortitude is needed to look at actual reality as it is and as it defies what one might want it to be or expect it to be like in their own narcissistic or sycophantic "vision".

There is no reason at all to think that health care should track inflation. If we received the same health care as in the past, sure, but this is a massively and fast growing industry because it's important to so many people. It should no more track inflation than smart phones; we get more with them, so we're okay paying more than a decade ago.

Insurance, child care, education these are things that in theory should track inflation. it's not like child care workers are better than in the past or professors better.
 
I think sometimes people are mistaking getting older and your rates going up versus inflation wrt health insurance.

No, no, no.

CPI does not ignore any of these things and shadowstats is seriously one of the most incompetent, absurd, and downright dumb websites that exists. It is basically the Alex Jones of economics.

As I have mentioned in other threads, none of their calculations pass even the most cursory rational test. Since 2000, shadowstats has estimated the US's inflation rate to average approximately 9%. That would mean that during this time the average price you pay for something has increased by more than 300%. Does anyone here think that you need to make triple the salary you made in 2000 in order to keep the exact same standard of living? This is Dave McOwen $5 milk talk.

Anyone interested in learning just how insanely wrong shadowstats is should use the search feature, as there's plenty more wrongness where this came from.

People tend to feel verbally attacked by such things as pointing out that they ask stupid questions. I don't attack everyone and I don't attack anyone all the time. When I do attack somebody, it can be for any number of reasons. Know that
I could even viciously attack somebody trying to seriously harm you given a real world opportunity to do so that called for it in my opinion. Your question was full of shallow assumptions, I think.

Try not to be intentionally obtuse. Proper use of markup language means using its functionality correctly. I find what I do better suits me. I prefer a different functionality. Sheep are folk that can't help but bleat when others deviate from the stereotypical way. They aren't sheep because they post typically. It's the reaction to the different, the need to point to it, that reveals the inner conditioning, the fear of something other. It what keeps so many rutted.
