That's an ebay rule, not a PayPal rule.

Wait a sec....

If the buyer pays you through paypal directly from his bank account... you don't have to pay that 2.9% paypal fee, whereas if they pay by credit card through paypal you do?

Why would you restrict your ability to accept a payment from a customer?

edit: also how did you own him, when you are the one not getting paid?

WOW, you are an ASS!

ebay's current policy is EVERY auction accepting paypal MUST accept CC payments. It sounds like you are the one who needs to "read and understand all terms"

Kind of, the key is:

Premium accounts CAN accept credit but have to pay a 2.9% fee on ANY payment they receive.

Basic accounts CAN NOT accept credit, but don't have to pay any fees.

Wow, maybe you're right ;).

I wasn't aware of this, and they obviously didn't make it very apparent.

Also, I did not put the paypal logo, or have the option to pay directly through paypal on my auction. I put "other method" and listed that it could be paid in the manner listed etc etc.

I will prob in the future put up a second paypal account to accept CC's.

Perhaps we can offer suggestions on your apology letter to your customer?

If he reports you to PP you'll get pawned by both PP and eBay. And rightfully so...

Not really. eBay is can be pretty lenient towards sellers, considering they are the ones who are making money for eBay.

I'm trying to picture eBay and Paypal taking the OP to a pawn shop to get some cash. LOL -- getting "pawned" as you say.

One measure of a person is the way they react when someone else makes a mistake.

I measure you as an asshole.

BTW, since you're so proud of your Master's degree, I'm wondering why you haven't put that in your signature?

Ha, what is that supposed to mean?

Anyhow, I don't have anything with spell check at hand. Someone please point out my mistakes.

Yup... cause people are too damned stupid to understand the difference between a direct money transfer and a credit card payment.

That and you have tons of spelling/grammar mistakes.

I'd say you pwn3d yourself :)

I was thinking along the same lines. " I know what I'm doing!!!!!. I've worked on computers forever, but they should just have warnings not to use the cdrom as a coffee cup holder!!"

How did you get to lock his ebay account ?:( I had a deadbeat who bidup my motherboard and then later didn't pay. I called him personally and asked him why he didn't pay, he said he didn't need it anymore. I reported him to ebay but he is still an active user.:(
