holy shit. anyone else really like larabars?

it's basically a granola bar for wealthy people who shop at whole foods. ;P

but even kroger seems to carry them now. nothing more than chopped fruits and nuts smushed together, but they taste fantastic and are quite healthy (although a bit fatty because of the nuts (that's what she said?)).

the pecan pie flavor is quite tasty and is very reminiscent of pecan pie; ingredients? dates, almonds. the cherry pie is EXACTLY like cherry pie; ingredients: dates, almonds, cherries.

i'm not quite sure how the bloody shit they can nail the flavors quite so well with two or three completely raw and unprocessed ingredients. but somehow, they do.

pricey stuff at like 1.69 a bar (kroger), but they're more like 1.00-1.50 online. i ordered two boxes (16 ea) for 1.25 a piece shipped.

Poly and monounsaturated fats, the kind found in nuts, are very good for you.

Whole Foods is a grocery store for idiots. 1lb of noodles cost $5, vs $1 at any other store.

Generally speaking, you're correct. However I've found that for whatever reason, Whole Foods has better deals on tortilla chips and salsa than my local Superfresh.

whole foods is expensive as fuck, but there is zero question as to who generally has the better quality foods. being poor really does make you unhealthier, unfortunately. around here, publix has struck a pretty good balance between cost and quality, but even they seem pricey compared to someone like kroger.

also, if anyone else does like these, i think allstarhealth.com has them the cheapest, at 17.50 a box and flat 5.95 shipping (so it's best to buy in bulk, possibly six or seven or so boxes so as to approximate the general heft and structure of an alternator).
