Anyone else get motivated to work harder when they are in pain?
When I went for my walk tonite, it was about 30 degrees outside. I wore t-shirt and some windpants, and I thought I would be cold. I wasn't, actually the colder and stronger the wind, the faster I walked.
Also, if I ever have aches or pains, I work harder and faster. I guess I get pissed off at the pain, so I work harder.
I remember one such instance. It was a week after I was involved in a roll over car accident. I had 4 broken ribs, my right elbow was torn to shreds, my right knee was jacked up (right up against the dash board, ouch!), and the fingers on my right hand were mangled. As a matter of fact, the wound on my elbow was so wide, it could not be stitched up, same goes for my right hand and fingers.
I did not take any pain medicine, and I was back at work one week after the accident. I remember that every time something hurt, I pushed myself harder. Not sure why I do this, but I suppose it is a good thing.
Anyone else do this?
