maybe hot in the future? Visiontek GF3 T1200

i went to my local bestbuy last night and i went straight to the video cards shelf 'coz i wanted to get one of those kyro II on clearance.
but i saw the rep putting in Visiontek GF3 Ti200's on the shelf and then he took 3 of the boxes and then placed them behind the printer boxes (yes, i followed him).
when i went looking around for those open box hot deals, i saw a lot of GF3's hidden in the audio, furniture, and software isles.
so i guess somebody knows something will happen.

Very interesting~! Computer upgrades can now be found almost anywhere in the store. Sounds like an Easter Egg Hunt. 😀

Tomorrow BB has $50 MIR on those cards, so they are $150 after MIR. Which still doesn't explain the rep's behaviour.

BB ad starting tomorrow shows GF3Ti200 for $199.99 less $50 MIR. This deal is warm at best. $50 more than same card at Black Friday sale. Could be hot if someone else has regular price discounted for pricematching.

hehe.. found one in a washing machine? hmmm maybe it was left over from the Thanksgiving sale?

This actually is a good deal for all the AMEX blue owners out there. Buy the card at Best Buy for $199, pricematch with the link in the previous post ($149) and mail in the $50 MIR bringing your price down to just over $100. Not bad if you don't mind waiting on the rebate.

Edit: My bad, Newegg has the VT card for $169 retail plus $7 shipping. I was thinking of the Gainward which is $156.

With the GF4 being announced next week or so I think the smart money should stay in your wallet. The Amex thing is an OK deal but 149 with MIR is just a couple bucks off Newegg isn't it? I'm gonna give it a month or so and see what's left when the dust settles.

haha. thanks clammy3! i saw 2 open boxes for $173 each. so $173-$50 rebate = $123 :Q
now it's my turn. gotta go hide those puppies for tomorrow 😀

Simple. He's hiding them for friends :disgust:

Should of told a store manager about this, might of earned you a buddy next time you need to PM.

Yea, Best Buy is really good at that all the time too. :disgust:

Also good if you bought it previously from BB w/out a rebate. Just buy the card, get a rebate form and rebate receipt. Return the card the next day or whenever, take the UPC from the card you already own and mail in the rebate receipt and rebate form. 🙂

Chiz

Also, this is different PO Box number and different offer number than the Black Friday rebate (you can see the rebate
here). That means that I should be able to get them both, right?

Interesting, that is a really good Amex Blue idea. I've been needing a new video board (damn Voodoo 5!) for a while...so I might have to take a walk over there.

Thx for the deal.

You BOUGHT one of those???? WHHHAAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!

Now I know who all FIVE buyers were 🙂

<just a joke 🙂 >

Better yet , go to Newegg and get the PNY GeForce 3 ti200 for a couple of dollars more and you don't have to worry about the Rebate, and get a lifetime warrenty.

Just a thought...

anybody do this and PM it with Microtech yet?? Did AMEX Blue accept the PM??? BB has their own PM policy; i hear that AMEX might not let you PM if the store you bought from already has a PM policy....?? anybody know for sure??

For you non-AMEX Blue ppl:

Bring us verification of the lower price, plus your original Best Buy receipt to claim your refund. Does not apply to special, bonus or free offers, and in California cellular phones and pagers. Does not apply to products with special financing offers. For complete price guarantee details, please see a customer service representative. We reserve the right to limit quantities. Online Price Guarantee
At this time we do not have a price match guarantee. However, if you purchase an item online or at an in-store kiosk and choose in-store pick up, and the item is offered at a lower price when you pick it up, you will be charged the lower price.

Will BestBuy honor this if you bring in a printout of Microtech's price??? If they honor it this deal will be even HOTTER because of the extra 10% off!!! So you could order it online, do an in-store pickup, bring the printout of Microtech's page in and see if they PM it right at BestBuy!! Anybody know if this would work!??

...edited

Oh crap...are you telling me that I just bought a card that I can't get an Amex pricematch on??? I bought the card, now what do I do???
