Also, I know it works differently in the UK but over hear we prize our individual freedom. If I'm not hurting anyone and am not going to hurt anyone, there's no rational reason for me to not own a fully automatic weapon. Put me through whatever reasonable licensing procedure you like, I'll pass and then I expect that to be the end of it. Unfortunately governments almost always demand a mile when given an inch, so I can't support such licensing in good faith, even though it is the most rational solution.

Yeah! Because America and modern society will last forever! We've never had examples in history (recent or long since past) of pockets of communities turning violent over social unrest! Ferguson is a happy place right now! There wasn't any rioting or looting of businesses that had nothing to do with what happened. Nobody needed protection.

I'm doubt there was any looting, did you see all the police? Surely they protected the citizens and businesses.

You could also say that parents allowing their kids to play any level of football or hockey is insane considering what we now know happens to the brain. Strange how there is no public outrage about that.

In Canada, a lot of kids are not allowed to play hockey by their parents due to brain injury. It's actually a really big deal. Also, we pretty much don't play football so it is a non issue here. But every time someone gets a concussion in the NHL, the debate comes back up. The bigger the star and the bigger the concussion, the worse it gets. When Sidney Crosby retires at 30 because he messed up his brain, all checking will be removed from the sport, in Canada at least.

The only thing I know about the NFL in the states is that people don't care because 'MURICA FUCK YEAH!!
 
All the instructor had to do was help her hold onto it and it would have been just as safe as a 30 year old man shooting it.

The person at fault was killed so it equals out.

Not really... The 9 year-old now has to live with the image of her blowing the brains out of a person and having his blood/brain matter fly all over her face. Oh, and she killed someone. That's gotta wreck a life.
