May 17th & 18th, Hot Dog+Coke $.50 at Frys

Frys posted on their Facebook page that this Friday & Saturday they will be selling a hot dog and coke for 50 cents at their local stores. You may want to call ahead confirm.

Last time I checked one of these, the hot dog was on the small side but reasonably tasty. But for half a buck, still a good deal.

It is Fry's Annivesary Sale the week prior to Memorial Day. Frys is not actually charging you for said items, instead they pick a local group like the city Firefighters and they donate the hot dogs and drinks to said charity. The charity then collects the proceeds of the 50 cent hot dog and drink.

It is a yearly thing so you don't have to call ahead, that said the food is only during certain hours (around noon time) and once they are out they are out.

While .50 cent hot dogs are fine and dandy, braving the crowds (aka savages) is not. I'll pass. :whiste:

Sorry I didn't pull out the tape measure. All I know is it's a huge hotdog.

Guy claims his hot dog is footlong... challenged it's not... retreats with 'I didn't pull out the tape measure'... quietly switches to 'all I know is it's huge'... first time that's happened.

Got both Costco and Sams.. Sams has Nathans about the same price. Soooooooo much better its sad. We buy them 40 pounds at a time, 95$ last time I ordered.

Really? Costco is very good and I don't remember Nathan's being much better (at their main store in New York, I don't shop at Wal-Mart/Sams).

After visiting NYC and Chicago last year I became addicted to hot dogs. I had not eaten them since a child. We asked several stands what type of hot dogs butmostly no answer, Hebrew national, and Nathan's. I spend a many hours on hot vendors forums and Nathan's was always rated pretty high. Most top 5 and 10 lists have Nathan's and Hebrew national. Honestly I can't recall ONE single mention of Costco anywhere. I know they just started selling them in bulk to the public in the last couple years. Maybe that's why. For now my entire 30 pound weight gain this year is related to a couple 40 pound cases of 1/4 lb Nathan's dogs. Maybe Ill try Costco dogs again, but I don't remember it being all that great.

Don't go for the ambiance, and I wouldn't call it 'the best you can get', but they're one of the better hot dogs and a huge value.

Of course I do remember Chicago's hot dogs places as having very good ones.

I know a hole in the wall in the bay area that are just really good. Who knows.

Costco used to serve Hebrew National beef hotdog. They changed to their house brand Kirkland beef hotdog couple years back.

As for the Frys deal, are we sure it's even 100% beef hotdogs?

Funniest HD thread I've ever read.

HD = Hot Deals, not Hot Dog, I've read funnier hot dog threads...

I know this is sarcasm but I think they are. Most Frys have a large Muslim employee population so they try to work with them.

I forget what year anniversary this is, but if its the 27th, expect a lot if things priced at .27 after rebate. 2.70. 27.00. 270.00 and so on

Either in store or AR
