The drive arrived today. There is no molex power adaptor on this drive so if your p/s doesn't have a SATA power connector you'll have to get an adaptor. Anyone know of a cheap place to get it? It's $3+$3.90 shipping at SVC and $2+$5.67 shipping at Acortech (the free shipping coupon code didn't work 🙁)

Check your local FRY's. Shipping on these small items always kill it. 🙁

I wanna buy one of these today- as my DDR2 and PCI-E video should be on my doorstep as well. The only thing that scares me(a little) is the 1 year warrantee you get- wspecially with Seagate giving 5 years!

The last time I bought a drive(I think) the warrantees were still at the 3 year level.

I will be taking info from 2 80 gig WD's and a 160 Maxtor down to one IDE and one SATA, as my board can only handle 1 IDE connector. OBviously I will keep the Maxtor, but I hate to not have a backup- especially when you get into drives this big.

There are a couple of Comp USSR's- one ten minutes, and the other 20 minutes that both have em- supposedly.

Power adaptor for $2.99 w/ free shipping at Directron

I got in for $118.36 out the door.

Grabbed one this afternoon from Woburn Ma- all the others in are supposedly sold out.

I looked long and hard though at a Seagate 160 SATA for $140, thinking it would have the 5 yr warrantee. Box only said a one yr warrantee though- so on the shelf it went. Does Seagate have a 5 yr warrantee?
