Is this a DiamondMax 10 drive? I was just about to buy one from zipzoomzly.com, but guess I will wait.

Nevermind... these only have a one year warranty. Bah.

this is what the Maxtor site says about these:
Ultra16 Hard Drive Kits

* Ideal for high-end gaming and digital video
* Your choice of either PATA and SATA Interfaces
7200 RPM SATA/150 interface, providing the speed you need
* Up to 300GB of storage
* 16MB cache buffer, the largest available cache today
* MHX? acceleration for multi-stream video applications (SATA versions)
* MaxBlast? drive utilities for intelligent formatting and partitioning
* =9ms average seek time

I would assume that these are the Maxline III's just in a retail package

yeah, 1 year warranty kept me back, went with the 120gig sata drive 8mb cache.. 1 year warranty also, but i figure i'll sit on the SATA bus for a year and wait for a hot deal to come along

yeah with PM + coupon (if you can find those, don't really know where to find them personally), this would be a really nice deal.

I have a $300 off 150 here and some 25 off 100. Really hoping they get the 300gb pata one instock. Have that backordered for 120

hm do i go for this. After pm $30 coupon and 15pack disks it will be around $129
Should i wait for my 300gb to get back in stock so they can forfill my backorder for $120 shipped

the maxline III and the diamondmax 10s are identical according to people. the difference being who the product is targeting. also the warranties are different. if you get a oem diamondmax10 you get a 3 year warranty.
