I feel the exact opposite about Maxtor and Quantum, I love Quantum drives, think Maxtor is about the worst you can buy other than samsung or what have you. This sucks..............

Maxtor makes great drives. Let go of the past. I have three (20,30,40GB) and they're fine. The Quantum I had was so-so. Pretty slow.

Buying Quantum gives Maxtor so high-end SCSI stuff in their line. Why? SCSI is sooooo dead and only used by PC snobs. (Hey, I can play Quake 3 while burning CDs with my ATAPI Acer 8432, so just forget about SCSI superiority. Plextor sees the light, you should too.)

I like scsi cause i can have a lot of devices hooked up without slaving things and all that jazz.
