Maxtor SCSI

Maxtor u320 Can this drive be that slow? I don't ever remember it being that slow before. I recently tossed out my Raptor 150 for my SCSI again and it seems slower. Granted it being an older SCSI drive but back then even the Raptor was on par or below its performance and this is below that stat.

Hmm, I thought the max transfer rate for these drives were around 98MB/sec? This is a 10K RPM drive right?

Which drivers & SCSI card you using?

How will the Fujitsu compare?

EDIT: as in transfer rates, access time, etc?

It is more responsive than my Raptor but I have to say it loads UT3 a bit slower... what would you guess it is?

Begin read times around 135MB/S decaying to just above 90MB/S IIRC.

It's hard to run on mine because the proxy cache tends to screw things up making it look like I have a 1400GB ram disk.

EDIT: Desktop performance is definitely better on the Fujitsu's. It should load levels fast! I have Dell Precision WS with a pair of MAX (the revision before MBA) no raid - just onboard SAS - and it's very snappy. Definitely quicker than a raptor...
