WD - Extremely fast (the SE drives), decent noise level, pretty reliable, sort of expensive
Seagate - Pretty fast, completely silent, very reliable, pretty inexpensive
Maxtor - Pretty fast, decent noise level, pretty reliable, inexpensive
IBM - Make backups daily or lose everything

BTW, I've had a 120GXP since Jan. No problems. Sometimes I miss behing able to hear my HDD activity.

8mb of cache can do wonders!! Maybe not on every read/write you do, but it definitely gives immediate performance than say, an ata/133 drive or a raid 0 setup.

I have a 2WD120JB set up in RAID0. I got to say that it hashes really quick.
