Do Maxtor HD's auto set ATA33, 66, 100, 133?
Example: will a 6L040J2 installed via an 80 pin cable to a motherboard that recognizes ATA100 auto set itself for ATA100?
If it is installed with a 40 pin cable will it auto run at ATA33?

Yes. Your motherboard should automatically detect your drives maximum ATA, and will set the drive accordingly.
